Patchwork calmed down hearing Lewis' voice. His presence felt like her's. She liked her. Her selective telepathy circled around to Lewis. <I'm a doll. Can't you tell?>

(Her being Alice.)

Clarity was only partly listening. She hasn't eaten anything yet, and the hunger was getting to her; her mind kept wandering off to what meals she could have cooked or ordered at the bistro. The thought of Canapés crossed her mind, and she began thinking of Vol Au Vents, and to Salmon Sashimi, Crostini, and so on, lost in her own thought. Then something caught her attention.

Smoke. The smell of smoke, filled with the aroma of meat, bread, and a hint of cilantro in the simultaneously revolting and alurring smell. The smell was wafting from deep in the forest, minute compared to the scents of fresh grass, but still there. Would she dare?

Wilson smelled it too. His appetite exploded with need. "Does...anyone else smell that?" Zs'Skayr perked up and sniffed the air. "Do now. Is someone cooking?" Patchwork detached from Lewis' mind to sniff the air herself. Oh yeah, something smelled good. Her selective telepathy locked onto Clarity. <That reminds me, I haven't eaten in DAYS! I'm starving! Where's it coming from?>

(Ah, wise.)

Clarity looked towards the depth of the forest. A strange smell, but nonetheless alluring. But the fear of what was hiding in theforest and what was making that smell was even stronger. She wouldn't risk it, if the situations were different.

(Well, if you're confused about the tarot thing, you'll understand in combat.)

The smell fades, as if the fire the meal, whatever it was, was cooking on was being put out. The savory hints of meat and garnishes fade into the forest scents, no longer recognizeable. The faded scent, however, was replaced with a new, much stronger scent. It smelled strongly of an acidic drink, infused with fruit smells. This scent makes it much easier to discern where it is coming from.

Torma was perusing the contents of her caravan, looking for something to garnish the meal with, or at least make it better tasting; she accidentally scalded the pork for too long, and half of the meat was burnt. She was already frustrated with the pigs in the neighboring area; those bloody idiots decided to barge in onto her base once, and this time, they kept her away from the cooking for far too long, a waste of perfectly good food. At least she got free meat for it. Those pigs learned from never going near here again.

"M-miss!"

She closes her eyes in exasperation. That fool didn't bring that beggar here again, did he? As she straightened her hair and crudely combed it with a piece of carved wood, she walked out of the caravan; she has enough going on right now, and no pig was going to stop her from completing these chores. The alignment of the heavens and moons were almost perfected, and here she is, tending to fools.

Patchwork stopped for a moment...three seconds...and with blinding speed leapt in the direction of the smell, giving Zs'Skayr and Wilson a bit of a start. "Patchwork, wait for us!" Zs'Skayr glared after Wilson's fading figure for a while, then floated quickly after.
