Lons
I'm actually on day 83 and I feel that the game lost it's purpose. I can just sit on my base for almost everyday. I'm saying that because I'm very new to the game (I bought it like 10 days ago) and I really don't know if it get's harder or not. Let me share my stuff: My base: Every time Hound come I just have to run to Pig's and Bufallo's horde and I'm safe, I've two carnivore plants (I don't know the name on the game, the one that puts eyeplants) that stops spider before they can get near to my base.. I'm looking for new achievements, I would really appreciatte feedbacks Kind Regards,Lons Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/28603-does-the-game-gets-harder-after-some-time/ Share on other sites

23rd
In addition to Caves, have you played Adventure Mode? If you get lucky and find Wes he can provide a bit of an extra challenge. Lons
No I didn't but what's the purpose on going to the Cave? I've everything I need outside the Cave, the only reason why I would be going is to get the game more exciting? The game should encourage players somehow, offering something different. Are there anything different for what should I seek for? Lons
I didn't played Adventure as well. I've found Maxwell Door already but I don't really know how Adventure Mode works. What's different inside? Do I get any prize after ending this mode? What's different inside? Do I get any prize after ending this mode? Regards,LonsYou must survive 5 worlds that present different challenges, in an effort to eventually find Maxwell. Each world is generally finding the teleportato pieces and building the machine to move on to the next world. Each world is different, some of them start out in winter, some have low resources, and one of them is 24/7 darkness. Beating adventure mode unlocks a new character (not counting Wes, he's just a lucky find) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/28603-does-the-game-gets-harder-after-some-time/#findComment-339721 Share on other sites
the truthseeker
Also, in caves, besides a literal whole new world in there, they have their own progressive enemy called the Worm. It's the cave equivalent of the hound attacks. But in its own unique way. No spoilers besides this so I'll end that description here. Trust me, if you're looking for end-game level challenges, you got to see the cave and its multiple depths! Yeah, Adventure mode is the challenge/progression story part of the game that rewards you with an unlock if you...let's say win, as well as a chance to rescue another character if you're lucky. Cynical Cynicist
Nope. You have everything you'll ever need in that camp. Now it's time to decorate, expand and be temporarily amused at the underground creatures; lots of spiders, annoying hound-like worms, bunnymen, the occasional large tentacle, slimy turtles, hunger-reducing rollers and the one-time rook reskin boss. Also, you can fish eels if you really want to... gummie
Seeing how you built your camp like that in span of 10 real days and 83 game days, you must have read many guides and maybe the wiki which spoils all the fun on your exploring. Anyway try World Hopping, Spelunking from Caves and Ruins, Adventure Mode. Lons
Does the outside world offer an objective either? No. Not that type of gameYes it does. Example: If you want to make beekeeper hat you need silk so you've to kill spiders and then you keep going.. But what's different on the Cave? What can I find there in order to improve my base, etc..? The guy streamming was on day 250 and I saw his base and his comments... After that I started playing and used some hints from Don't Starve wiki to continue building my base. But since it's ready the game lost it's sense in my opinion. I want to try the Caves but in order to do that it needs to attract me somehow.. Rare itens/resources, new characters, anything at all.. Lons
http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Ancient_Pseudoscience_StationInteresting!! I'll try to find it them. Thank you so much! By the way, in my opinion, it would be great if the game continuously gets harder after some time. For example: After day 50, it could have a probability of your base being invaded by some monsters, for example, pirates coming from the ocean, anything like that.. And that could continue in order to make the game even harder after day 100, 150... That would incentive the player to improve it's defense, make more combate itens, etc...Does anyone agrees with me? Otherwise nothing really happens. A new creature or progressing difficulty event would be nice, but not pirates... For now Deerclops and lureplants serve the role of base invaders, and a mob of Krampus should the Krampusnachts be added into the vanilla game (it's a mod for now in which 6 Krampus will invade your location and steal all they can). Actually, no matter what the game will throw at you, once you get to the endgame tier of weapons and armor(you don't need the caves stuff tbh, but caves add more replayability to the game), you can basically rule everything (if you have at least some skill of course, like kiting and taking minimal to no damage in fights), and once you reach that point the game starts to become less fun imo, and you start focussing on makeshift objectives to keep you going. Thank you for your reply. You answered almost every doubt I had. Imo, new progressive difficulty events would give a totally new perspective for long games (Pirates was only one example). I really love games like Don't Starve and this game mechanics are awesome and the game can actually improve on many ways. Starting this progressives difficulty events would be one way. Another thing that I thought that, imo, could improve the gameplay would be the possibility of making a real base (With more than walls. Towers, for example) and then hire Pigs to help you to defend your base (For example, you need to give them 2 meats each day, anything like that) and then they'd stay on your base helping you to defend. But that would only improve the gameplay if the game start to become harder with new invasions, etc.. I'm surprised you didn't get the title "The all knowing One" or something upon those lines.Thank you . Thing is, if I would have gotten "The all knowing One" as a title or something along those lines, and I would say even ONE fact that wasn't correct/ or not know a particular thing, then that entire title would be a blatant lie. And since I have done this before in the past since I *thought* to know my things, I'd rather not risk it again. But hey, I showed my support for Krampus, which he totally deserves, and look where we gotten: We saved the Krampus, and I am Kramptastic now! Alright, back to topic! Thank you for your reply. You answered almost every doubt I had. Imo, new progressive difficulty events would give a totally new perspective for long games (Pirates was only one example). But that would only improve the gameplay if the game start to become harder with new invasions, etc.. Thing is, the game isn't all build around making a very in depth base, like a let's say MineCraft or Terraria or games like that. Your vase building and customizing options are not varied enough for that. The game is more focussed on survival instead of giving you that much freedom. Oh and towers would need another dimension, mountains and hills never made it in the game either so I doubt this would Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/28603-does-the-game-gets-harder-after-some-time/#findComment-340064 Share on other sites

Or then new perspectives for new games I start, etc. ..What do you do to remain interested in the game, after 50~60 days on gameplay, given your extreme knowledge about the same and the ease of the game? Lons
I really don't want this game to be a "tower defense"Me neither.
