the egg issue is arising again, it isn't preventing freezing I stood by it for a minute or two and just froze to death :^P

EDIT 3: yep I can confirm its the same issue, a perish-ability of heat over time

 

EDIT 2: this is strange... after death climbing the beanstalk will return you to your death point

I fixed the eggs completely in the newest commit. Also, they won't work in your inventory anymore, so you actually have to stand next to them. Duckraptor spawning now works, although in the future it will be gradual. Turf has also been lightened up slightly. Owls will no longer come out of crystals when you mine them. Slowly chipping away at our mountain of work. :p

 

Oh, and there are a few slight balance changes.

the mountain of work will take time to dig out (don't dig too greedily or too deep you may awaken something in the darkness :p)

Let me know if any issues arise. Things are going to be a little bumpier in the coming days, since I'll be toying with the biomes and bitoa. :p

okay I can confirm set pieces are now in the cloudrealm I've come across two so far the "fire staff trap" and the "feather hat rope and fishing rod" one

 

the golden egg still only gives off heat if its fresh :/ not sure what could be causing it though I'll manually re install soon to make sure its definitely the latest commit

 

(as github seems to be a pain for me I click sync re extract the files from the zip but sometimes it doesnt work)

Egg bug doesn't seem to be happening on my end... Those set pieces aren't supposed to be there. Weird. o.o

I guess that's something my end... i'll manually re-install and check the issue again

 

okay definitely something my end I've now got the biota and such

 

the crystal causes a crash on activation but I guess that's just unimplemented, if its not I can get the the log and the error screen

Yep, that's a legitimate placeholder (just to test the waters for rarity, etcetera.)

 

Personally, I think that I'll make axes do quite a bit more damage to them than other weapons, rather than decrease their health much, what do you think?

well I think health will need to be reduced as well, as the large numbers make it impossible to survive either that or give them a territorial radius around a plant (like a tallbird)

Yeah, I plan on implementing them like that. Not sure what to put them around yet, though. Perhaps they can be part of the beanclops' attack.

From what i see from the video those things need to slow the F down!

that could work

 

Ive also thought of a 3 tiered territorial circle around an object

 

outer layer - 2 vines

middle layer - 3 vines

inner layer 5 vines

 

The stutter is preventing me from doing further testing as of now :/

 

EDIT: hmm, ive been trying to see whats going on with the stutter a few more times but what i've noted in the bug thread is all i can figure out

ok I got lucky and the stutter didnt happen for about 30 mins earlier;

 

heat has become an issue again since golden eggs are rather rare now that biomes limit spawning areas

 

my idea to combat this would be another shopkeeper trade, 5 golden nuggets for a golden egg or something along those lines

okay... my antivirus system (avast) REALLY hates the autocompiler all of a sudden, and will not run it no matter what I do, this means I cannot access the game to try and continue testing

 

anyone know a workaround for this? 

Have you added an exception for the autocompiler's folders/files?

Im trying to do that now, although after the first few times its not working I'm going to try adding the modtools folder to global exceptions

 

EDIT: tried that... autocompiler won't even run now

 

EDIT 2: well this is plain irritating, i cant even end the process tree through the task manager it just sits there like "nope, you cant access this today"

 

after messing with many settings and 2 restarts i got it working...

okay, Ive got something up for discussion; the spawn rates of crystal relics, considering they give you an extra chance Im not sure this many is a good idea

Definitely not intended. :D They should be much more rare. I've got to do quite a bit of tweaking to the biomes (because a lot of things right now aren't quite right) and give some things their names.

EDIT: got a bug, the golden eggs are now "missing name" and the textures and function are not there

Those aren't golden eggs. I'll give the mysterious unnamed stuff names shortly. :p Basically, those yellow boxes represent parts of the mod that aren't anywhere near finished.

Ah, okay. Oh, the vines should be far more balanced now. If you can find them at all right now. I've got to tweak a lot, so if you notice anything at all that seems odd or out of place, don't hesitate to let us know.

will do, I'll try and generate a bunch of beanstalks at some point and post the maps here so you can decide if thats the spread of biomes you want
