At first i was not pushing spatializer circuit as gamma circuit.

Now with the chessmaster introduction as the only one single slot circuit makes me realize that it makes 0 sense has a gamma circuit. All bonuses are cool but theyre just passives, the only thing thats its not, is the ability to directlty repair clockworks without have to electrocute them first. Switching their categories would make them more consistent.

Alpha (stats bonus), Beta (always active abilities), Gamma (abilities that require player interaction)

The Division its what we currently have, The chessmaster circuit its the exception of what (mostly) circuits do in their respective category. And I'm aware that this will eliminate a cool combination of circuits to rush ruins like 1x Speed + 1x Optoelectronic (nightvision) and we Dont want that; a simple solution would be just add and extra "Active" effect for the The chessmaster circuit to make it more appealing in the gamma category.

When I first saw the Gamma circuits, I realized that while Alpha and Beta functioned as a build system for the chassis parts, Gamma was essentially a build system for the control panel buttons. It fit the robot theme perfectly and felt like the true next phase of robot building. I was deeply impressed by this groundbreaking idea and had been eagerly looking forward to it.

Is it, where is it official? I think gamma is just capabilities. Not active abilities, but capabilities: the ability to spin, the ability to digest rot, the ability to recruit more chess pieces seems fine.

Alpha is core stats (health, hunger, sanity)

Beta is mainly modifications to non-core stats (temperature, speed), with some other stuff thrown in (light, vision, electric).

Gamma is new / altered capabilities.

I think the chess master circuit being gamma is the correct choice. It competes with spin circuit in a nice way. I think it would be way worse in beta. It would be kinda of interesting in alpha (get more followers at the cost of your own stats) but I think gamma is the correct choice.

try having both circuits slotted at the same time and trying to use the one you want to use, or worse in a chaotic fight with a boss with your team and you want to redirect aggro onto you with the blocking circuit to let your low hp friend heal in fix their armour and clicking the wrong thing causing them to die as you can only select yourself to activate

They already can do this. Idk about bee boxes

the Nightvision circuit was made much weaker by the light circuit

Well you CAN befriend as many as you wish, but any that go over the limit will enter standby mode and fall asleep. They won't fight for you unless a spot empties up.

So people mention 2 things. 
• New affinity is not thematic enough

• Spatializer to gamma

 

I get the first one.

But, the original shadow affinity was looking not so good. It only spawned a little shadow hand to collect things, and If we separate this skill effect alone without telling you, will you recognize who’s affinity skill this is? I would be thinking this was for Maxwell. Yes, it is a good shadow affinity effect, but not for WX. 
The new drones are better-looking for WX-78, but it doesn’t feel like a shadow affinity. They literally replaced his Emotion module with the Shadow material, and those drones feel like a common technology. I am sure that only few animation changes(I don’t know, maybe some rose vine?) will nail it to be thematic enough, and I love the change so far.
 

About Spatializer for gamma, This is nothing but joke. Gamma circuit should be active, and be about mimicing one of the monsters. Digest less like Catcoon, Spin like Mosling, Block like Slurtle, and Behave like gear chesspiece to be one of them. Spatializer doesn’t work like that. If you really want an extra 1pin circuit other than the new chess one, It should be the rangeboost one. Enhancing optical condition makes more sense cuz It always happens and drone-control is considered as active skill too.

First of all, thank you for creating the skill tree for the robot. I'm a player who really likes WX-78. Currently, the design of the Shadow Affinity drone may not have met expectations, as the current Shadow Affinity seems more troublesome and weaker compared to the original version. I'm curious about the strength of the robot you envisioned during the design process. In my opinion, a 1.25 damage multiplier would allow the Golden Axe to kill a spider in three hits and the Pickaxe to kill a hound in three hits, which would be a great combat improvement. Unfortunately, it's now only 1.2. In the later stages of the game, when many monsters have special defenses, is a 1.2 physical damage multiplier a bit low? Maybe we could get more drones or corresponding Shadow damage. Originally, WX78 could enjoy a stable damage multiplier in group battles, but now the conditions are much more demanding. So, will there be any balancing measures? For example, allowing teammates to also benefit from the drone's effects or having more stable drone scans. The emergency recharge effect that consumes Nightmare Fuel is great, but in actual use, there aren't many scenarios where it's needed. It would be nice if a fully charged battery could provide other benefits.(Machine translation)

In the case of the drones it seems visually apparent they are powered by shadow energies and machines have been connected to shadow as well. Sure Wagstaff has made machines part of lunar side but clockworks the main machine mob have always been associated with shadows and the ruins.

They could have swapped the animation for a tentacle/atrium vein grabbing it for you and bringing it back and that issue would be fixed tbh.

I really like the battery ideia. This could work not only for wx recharge, but dor zaptrocuter :)

Disagree on this, tbh. WX in every iteration (pre-rework, rework, skill tree), has been emphasized as more of a tank character than a damage dealer. Especially considering WX is one of the few characters that doesn’t get direct stat boosts to deal with lunar/shadow creatures, I think having minions that you can tank for is a great way to utilize his kit.

Yes, I changed my perspective on it. In the end, as I mentioned, one of the characteristics of this character is that it can be played in different ways. Perhaps it wasn't the new circuit I was expecting, BUT it's still pretty cool and useful.

A thought: a Gamma Circuit to make food eaten also apply that hunger, sanity, and health to inactive chassis.  Maybe from a scan of self-healing boss like Crab King or a minion-having boss like Spider Queen (I know Nurse spiders do more of the healing-allies thing, but they're already a scan).

that would be really good if they ever ended up adding lunar/shadow circuits, i like it

That'd be fantastic. The bonus could be small, e.g., 10% per backup chassis and it would still be a huge quality of life gain. Note: I don't think this circuit needs to be an affinity circuit or anything. It works fine / seems very useful regardless of affinity.
