Considering that it's almost impossible to get Klei merchandise in my country, should I be upset that we were given the opportunity to buy at least skins? In fact, I would gladly buy a cast iron mold even without a skin, but unfortunately, this is not possible

The catcoonalyzer is so bad and im so jealous of the other WX figure that has the amazing bundling wrap skin. I did get the YouTooz WX figure anyways because its a insanely good figure of them.

I bought my Maxwell YoutoozI wanted the figure, the skin is also cool though. The skin is just an added bonus on top of having a little Maxwell in my home.

While I disagree with amount of anger in this post … I will say there is some truth to certain generation of sales with digital items. 
 

the iron cast cooker skin for example … it is literally advertised that you can ONLY obtain it that way, and only in very limited time frame and quantity. 
 

will I not bake gingerbread? Of course I will. But, would there be no digital skin? I very very likely won’t have bought it for that alone.

The skins are just nice extras for getting the merchandise; you like the game so much you also want to get merch from it and that merch just happens to come with in-game cosmetic content as a bonus

If you only bought them that's most likely a case of self-inflicted FOMO for them, which admittedly I myself did for the Youtooz figures

With how the Youtooz figures had a very short availability run compared to other merch, it's okay for others to have a chance to get the skins

You purchased the main product that came with a side product for the side product, for the price of the main product and now you're mad people can buy the side product for the price of a side product?

I spent a couple hundred bucks on merch a couple months ago.

I'm still waiting on the shipment and codes. I can safely say (not just myself),  I'm 100 percent a-okay if they provide same skins the very next week so others can get it by paying for it or for free from twitch lurking.

It's funny how Klei usually never responds to these complaints and stays silent on such matters; they have my commendation. Even more hilarious how those (not op in this case) who haven't spent a single dime on merch tend to hold such loud opinions on this matter.

Klei has always been community driven and I'm happy to throw my money at them. No one is losing out here (except scalpers but that's just a happy accident 😇).

Hang on, being upset, when you bought a physical item, that you can keep forever as a neat thing, because the non-real in-game skin is now available to everyone, for purchase?

You bought this because you thought it was cool, exclusivity is a terrible reason to purchase things. It doesn't make you special in any vein, It's supposed to tell them you like the game or the figure, the skin is a added bonus.

This is a video game, we all play for fun, if you are buying a bit of physical merchandise, it shouldn't be for the skin exclusively. That is a bad decision no matter how you look at it, not to mention the cost of making the physical item is part of what drives up the price, you are paying for something tangible that took time to make.

I think this topic is way too much complex and only some people were able to touch some of the issues related to it.
Here in Brazil I could never buy any klei's merch, because of conversion + shipment, it's way too expensive and I'm not paid enough, sadly. I admit I'm glad that I'll have the opportunity to buy the skins for an affordable price though.

Normally I don't care about people's behavior and I don't say anything related to it, but mentioning the nationality of someone as a way to degrade them is kind of low. I don't like people that feel they are entitled to whatever they think they are, but keep your critics to the debate itself or, at least, their attitude towards the company.

It did inspire me to actually try using a hair dryer to heat him up and adjust him to be a bit more centered. Holding up so far!

For me, there's a certain gratification in collecting something that is rare. I agree it sucks that some merch is hard to get in other countries (there's some of those chinese figurines I wouldn't mind getting), but I also hate when a skin is advertised as exclusive and then later pops up in the shop. I'm not much of a figurine collector, so I would never have bought the funcos or youtooz if not for the skins.

Does chinese shop have "no skin code" variants? The youtooz.com one only has figures with codes included so it seems you are making things up.
