Title, I believe that lunar rifts still have alot of potential that needs to be used. Things like ramped up effects on the world as the rift grows. Some new mobs, environmental and survival effects etc. I'd really appreciate an update after the conclusion of rifts just finalising and polishing them before we move onto the next big content arc. what do you think? :cool2:

They said something along the lines "we gotta finish the end game stuff so we can be more free to do more early/mid game things, and for that we had to finish this arc first". So from my understanding, we'll stay a while without moon stuff, while they finish the shadow quest, and move on to new things. Maybe in the future well get some additions to the rifts again, but as Klein said, they want to be done with end game stuff for now

I mean, the bare minimum the devs said they'd do during host of horrors was adding some more moontations. As well as adding sheltering behaviour for creatures during lunar hail

Adding an ending to a questline and polishing and fleshing out the content added as part of the questline are two different things to dst devs I suppose

They once promised that there would be interaction between the shadows and the moon.

I kinda think this might be the next arc. That’s how I’d do it, anyways.

I would love for the rifts to be more fleshed out, but I still think they’re really fun. Klei no doubt has a long list of things they need to work on. I’m willing to wait. We already have confirmation that they’re still working on lunar rift stuff even though that arc is “finished.”

They said we'd get new Lunar Thralls alongside the brightshades a long time ago.

Were those the Lunar bosses, or something else?

Yeah almost certainly, they consume brightshade gestalts when spawning so they technically do replace brightshades if you summon them.

Finished? I don't think we even took the first step. Everything that happened related to rifts in 2 years were things that should have been Taking Root in a single update. Klei basically laid the foundation of the house and stopped before raising the first wall.

Personally, as a person who fundamentally hates this arc, I couldn't care less, but we've already spent 2 years on this, 2 years that could have been used for so many things, but they were 2 years trying to fix what Taking Root should have been, so that after that maybe something beyond the starting line could happen. May they do things from now on that interest the players, and that are tangible, since the promises of this arc were just that, promises and wishful thinking.

Makes me less hopeful of what's coming in the roadmap if their plan is to flesh out the rift content more. I can't trust that they'll give us something impactful when they haven't shown us much in the 2 years this arc has been going on for.

They only made the bosses considered as thralls later on so I don’t think they were the planned ones.

they teased things like mutated grass geckos and other mobs as well.

yeah i think i would LOVE a year focussing on making existing features and places better, ocean, caves, old mechanics, adressing old promises but i dont think thats realistic:wilson_cry:

Yeah they can do that, and then do the same for riffs.

I hope Klei ends this arc quickly and stops focusing resources onto post-endgame stuff entirely when truly not many people care.

Wilson, Wolfgang, Wigfrid, and Winona need complete skill tree overhauls; a couple characters still need skill trees; there are plenty of bugs and exploits that need to be patched; the game itself could use more survival threats after day 100.

Klei is wasting their effort when there is work to be done.
