Blegh, more crossover stuff... Hopefully it can be disabled in world gen. Hate crossovers...

Kind of funny though that this is the art for Wormwood. image.png.7eccc434606ab0b20d9b76a25ccf99ed.png Cause I agree. I'm looking at it like "wtf is this?" Love you Wormwood.

I don't have a problem with crossovers inherently, but I do think it's lame that after the Terraria and Cult of the Lamb crossovers were carefully put together to avoid "character from other video game" actually physically showing up as a piece of new content, the Balatro crossover is ENTIRELY based around "character from other video game" physically showing up in your world. It's one thing to have a skin of a character (the lamb ewelet) or an appearance from a general species (the Eye of Terror), but I find it personally really off putting to just have a Guy From Other Video Game standing in my world forever. Much less elegant than how y'all've handled crossovers before.

To be fair unlike Terraria or CoTL,  Balatro is literally poker, like, there's no background to really fall back on. It's literally just Jimbo watching you play poker with funny rules, I don't know how they could have done anything interesting without adding Jimbo himself.

I like it though, I hate getting bananas from ruins or the quay, so this is great for me. Also the minigame is just really fun

Wormwood himself is a Crossover..

I think it fits into the game as well as Wavey Jones, Curio Beefalo Dress Stage Collector, Charlie’s Stage Play & Corvus Goodfeather do at this point.

You just have to accept the facts that DST is no longer the gritty serious survival horror game that DS once was.

I ALSO think it would be a complete waste of Klei’s time to try and make this set piece more obscured away when they could instead be focusing on new content updates.

All of these are original concepts made specifically for DST and I like all of them.

This has nothing to do with the character of Jimbo from Balatro being in my DST world.

I think everything about the update looks great, the game is fun, rewards are okay and the new artworks are awesome.

But when you guys add a new setpiece with things that stick out, can you please try to blend the new structures to the surroundings? At least a little bit of turf work? (Like how you gave the atrium setpiece a "atruim is leaking" look to the whole setpiece")

I mean just look at it, I know a "natural" look also wouldn't fit this machine but this needs something!

I think a wooden chair and single tile of wooden flooring under it would do some good

If Jimbo wasn't present this would not be a Balatro crossover, it would literally just be a poker machine.

I think it depends on which biome it is in, cause mine was like this. image.png.164340d401a6766ace8f940a8a2b214e.png

This is basically exactly what I asked when I made the other comment. (I think mine just didn't generated properly because of the biome.)

I kinda would had preferred the purple carpet turf but wood is decent too.

it would've been funny if the machine was styled to look like the bamboo one from shipwrecked or something if the machine itself  is already sort of an abstraction

So is the entire cast of the game then. Crossed over from Don't Starve to Don't Starve Together. Definitely not the "got cha" I think you were aiming for.

No I mean wormwood is quite literally a crossover character, and if your playing on PC you unlock him for free from buying the Hamlet DLC, Every other character with the sole Exception of Warly (Shipwrecked DLC character) has a canon lore explanation as to how they ended up in DST Together.

Wormwood (& Warly) are the odd balls out, they’re from DLC, the rest of DLC characters have yet to make it into DST, and Klei gave us no explanation as to how either of them ended up in DST with everyone else.

Theres literally a whole lore plot about a jury rigged portal and Charlie and everyone who was once in their own worlds all being pulled together into DSTs version of the constant.

So Wormwood is Technically a Crossover character rewarded from buying a single player DLC who never got an explanation as to how they ended up in DST when the rest of Hamlets cast, did not.

I'd love if it could be hammered and moved. That spawn location can potentially mess up a lot of builds.

Yeah it would be really nice to be able to move it into your base or if it’s in the way when it spawned in your world.
