Turf around the atrium gate should be allowed to be removed

long time ago, there was a bug report about being able to dig up the turf around the atrium gate, but it wouldn’t give items, as ruins turf didn’t at the time. Klei fixed this via the gate specifically having a quirk to prevent digging up any turf within its radius (this extends through the whole arena, and a little bit out of it). 

I personally feel this change could be reverted, given that not only do you obtain ruins turf from digging it up now, it’s also specifically, the only area in the entire game, that hard prevents you from digging up turf, which feels strange given that you can terraform any other biome/area. I feel this would be a nice little tweak given that the restriction feels unnecessary as players can simply revert the turf pattern as they wish.

dang we got caught. there goes our plan to replace the turf around the arena with grassy turf to make the fight 100 times easier

This change happened years before Woodie's thing, there is no way this had anything to do with making the fight easier.

No, you fool. Klei has been orchestrating this master plan for generations. The entire reason they made Don't Starve back in 2014 is because they always planned from the beginning to add the Ancient Fuelweaver to the multiplayer version of the game, later make it so you can't dig the turf up, then add Woodie being able to summon treeguards, and then almost a decade after making it so you can't dig the turf up make it so that world regrowth doesn't happen on the turf. A simple bugfix to address people trying to use the turf as an aesthetic thing being hindered by trees constantly growing on it? No. An elaborate scheme where throughout every Klei employee's family legacy they've been fostering children and teaching them about the plan, so that one day their children's children's children's children can come together to enact their grand scheme of trolling Woodie players into no longer being able to summon treeguards to make a fight in a videogame easier.

It's frankly rather obvious that this is what's going on.

Cobble stone there would actually make the fight 25% easier.

I never use woodie cheese before and i think i never will, even if any of the change go through.
But i do appreciate plantable things in atrium. Especially for atrium base.

Like even 4~5 stone fruits in atrium make a huge different, as when we play together, people often wait in atrium before the fight until all players come in. Having available food sources within the atrium would help a lots for people waiting there.

serious response because nobody's mentioned this: this change would be necessary for wurt's mudslinger to actually work against FW, currently it doesn't work at all just because of this one interaction they tweaked many years ago

also lovely to see that the exact same people we all know are being every bit as respectful as we expected them to be in this thread
