Do you get funky world generation?

Recommended Posts

Well, I've not played since 2021, and barely a week in 2024... Did anything related to biome generation change in any recent updates? I don't have any screenshots to show but I got some very horrible world generations with "overlapping" setpieces, pig king right on top of dragonfly, biome, biome branches being way too narrow and full of holes, winding roads generating on top of one an other, etc.

I do not change any world settings btw, I leave everything set to default, I'm afraid to mess with branching settings especially.

did you change the world generation settings a common setting is

Loops always and branches never to make a circle type world that causes this type of overlapping setpieces aswell

btw check your modfolder for a mod called (Setpieces picker or chooser) it hasent been updated in a wild and one of the issues is that

It seems pretty weird recently, I just got a world where the portal spawned right in the middle of the mosaic biome, and I've gotten weird holes all over and a very messed up cobblestone road

Haha only thing I ever change is resource variety to classic because I hate twiggy trees. No, only mod I have installed is geometric placement right now, I didn't mess with branches settings.

I wish I made use of screenshots on steam, I really got terrible buggy generations, awful luck on my end I guess.

I get worlds like that sometimes. Wish I could plant above average trees in those small water "lakes".

I like loop worlds so yeah, it's common for me at least. Think because of loops. I have Lunar Island 1 tile away from the mainland lol.

I wish i could generate a circle Loop world with Lunar Island in the center like i saw on the wiki screenshot showcasing the loop/branches world examples.

But alas the center is always empty or sometimes has a Waterlogged biome in it.

That's just the random generation issue/feature. You get a different odd or regular world each time and the chance of something being extra goofy like hound fort on top of oasis (somehow a common occurrence) to happen in this game.

I sure do wish we had more variety options to world generations.

Have I gotten weird worldgen lately? Well, five little words:

Welcome to my Lunar "Island"!

XD

Edit: I forgot to say, I did nothing to the world shape settings (I did make it "Huge", but that's it). On another world--and this is using a mod, but still--I had The Winterlands, which _specifically_ says in the description that it's supposed to be an ISLAND, as well, attached to the mainland. This seems to be a theme at the moment. I wonder if next time I generate a world, I'll have Pearl's island or Moon Quay or something, within walking distance. :P

And I haven't seen it myself yet, but a Steam friend complained of having weird holes all over their Dragonfly desert.

...Notorious
