What do you guys think of wavey jones

Wavey jones is a nigthmare that messes with your boat items aka

rising your anchor
rotation your rouder

even breaking your boat by removing patches

 

i think he sucks and he should be reworked so he is actively on top of the boat so that he dosent camp unreachable areas similar to a normal nigthmare for example the ocean nigthmare beak is way easier to counter as it has a set way off figthing it

I think he sucks and I hate him. The idea behind Wavey isn't a bad one, but the fact that he'll hide behind structures (so you can't make him go away) and his absurdly high threshold for appearing (75%) makes him just too annoying. If they made it so he could only appear in parts of the boat that are possible for players to walk on and maybe lowered his appearance threshold to 50% sanity, it wouldn't be as bad.

he super sucks but i don't want him to go away. he is a very dst kind of punishment for not minding your sanity and while i had a terrible time when i would encounter him it also made me much more mindful of my sanity both on and off of boats and i am actually a better sailor now because of it.

I hate him but I also like him because I like it when sanity has a big impact that you can't just duck out of by fighting. It reminds me of DS, where rabbits were a bigger source of passive meat gathering and finding filler was harder, so the rabbit turning into beardlings that didn't drop morsels was an actual threat.

this wasn't a thing unique to DS lol, if anyone thinks this it's because DS was their introduction to the franchise so they're wrongly attributing their new player experience to the game itself

Ngl accurate read on me, but I still think it's more impactful in DS than DST. For one thing, in DST rabbits are literally not a viable food source (at least not regularly) because if you try to use them that way the Rabbit King will murder you pretty quickly. So even if the rabbits turn into beardlings it doesn't matter in terms of food because you were never going to be able to use them as food on a consistent basis.

Good for the game design and aesthetics, but balancing makes the already bad QoL at sea even worse.

  • Fix the cases where it's impossible to drive away with buildings.
  • Disable lowering sails when sanity is between 75%-50% (actions that can destroy boats start to be performed when sanity is below 50%)
  • Can be disappears to drive away once when sanity is between 75%-50%, twice when sanity is between 50%-25%, and three times when sanity is between 25%-0%
  • When every time refuel the Deck Illuminator, Wavey Jones disappear.
