Will Remaining Skilltrees Be Completed In 2025?

Recommended Posts

As the title asks, do you think that with the remaining 7 Skilltree-less survivors: Webber, Wicker, Warly, Wes, WX, Wanda and Maxwell do you think they'll all be wrapped up in 2025? I'm looking forward to more frequent updates to Biomes, World Gen, Combat and Mobs etc moving forward after the Skilltrees. I think it's possible if they're done 3 per quarter this year.

Hopefully.... Klei hit their goals rather reasonably, and on the occasions they don't they usually have a good reason for it which plays out better in the long run. Personally I would love to see other updates than skill trees.

Skill trees were originally added to the game as a way of catching up underperforming characters to the overperforming ones.

That would had been ideal, but now look at Wendy’s skill tree, already powerful characters becoming even more busted AF.

Skill Trees Powercrept their intentions.
I literally FEAR Wanda’s skill tree, she’s already highly broken as is Without one.

So- I hope Klei learned a hard lesson here during this skill tree endeavor & once they’re done, they’re DONE and move on to other types of more enjoyable content.

i feel like they should take their time maybe give the other ones a provitional alignment toggle so they can experiment and be rewarded for killing fuel weaver or cc

If they do then quarterly it'll give them an average of 3 months per group, maybe that'll be enough time? Who knows.

hopefully they do, but they might do a skilltree rework phase. Not even trolling this is a legit possibility that might take another couple years.

I don’t think peoples patience are going to hold out much longer..

They promised “Trust the process it’ll all make sense in the long run” and yet everything still feels very de-attached and we still don’t get the bigger picture.

You got 7 characters due for skilltrees, 8 if you include Wilson (which is not unreasonable to suggest he could get a new one as his predates the current system)

An educated guess is you probably will not have all skilltrees done this year, unless they decide to substantially alter the way things are getting pumped out

Depending on how far they fall behind on the current patch, this year's patches could give less content than we're used to

They're going to finish the remaining skill trees in 2026 then finish the skill tree reworks in 2031. Presumably after that they'll start adding, like, second skill trees or something.

The skill trees will bear skill fruit. Then come the skill nuts and squirrels. They've got an entire skill ecosystem planned out, just you wait.

I have another worse question:

Will remaining skill trees be completed before DST has been completed shut down?

In this logic, Wolfgang need no skill tree.

If someone think Wendy's skill tree would go OP, please try to ask a nerfing for her DPS.

End of skill tree, end of DST? In that case, the end of DST does not have a good ending. So it's really possible that the skill tree will be delayed for three or four years. I know some of it was a joke, but it's going to happen.

Same. The best part of skilltree updates is knowing that the vicious cycle of riff content and character updates is getting closer to ending.

Your awesome joke put an awesome image in my head. Imagine a game where the skill trees formed scenes with constellations or something, like the druid skill tree was a little animal dude eating an apple that fell off a tree with some extra flowers & stuff around. I think that would be dope as Hell (Can you say Hell here? (Mods please don't ban me if you can't say Hell)). A couple of this game's skill trees do something kind of similar to that with making some shapes.

A nature themed game where all the skill trees are different parts of this one big scene and the DPS class' skill tree has alpha male chad squirrels lifting weights and shaking their fists at the cowardly healer's skill tree segment).
