LadyD
A Brief Intro To CookingFirst off, cooking is done with the crock pot. The crock pot must be unlocked through research and the proper materials. There are two item categories when it comes to cooking in Don't Starve. Fillers and Ingredients.Fillers(they occupy a slot but don't add anything to the mixture)Pine conesGrassFlowersSticks (if used with meat, you get kebabs, otherwise: filler)Ingredients(they make up the food and decide it's effect)MeatFruitsVegetablesMost edible itemsThe way a player combines ingredients and fillers decides what the outcome will be. There is variance in every recipe, based on how many fillers you use. The more fillers used, the less overall hunger the meal will satiate, even though the product will be the same. For example: A Froggle Bunwich can be made with 1 frog leg and 3 fillers and it gives 51 hunger points. But if it is cooked with 3 frog legs and one filler, it will give 59 hunger points. This variance principle remains the same in all cooked meals. Now, onto the Combination List! The Grand Cooking Combo ListWet GoopIngredients: Combination of four fillers Cooking time: Unknown Satiates:Unknown Meaty StewIngredients: At least one type of meat Cooking time: 2/16 Satiates: 30 Hunger (2 Morsels + 2 Fillers)XX Health22 Hunger (2 Monster Meat + 2 Fillers)XX Health31 Hunger (1 Meat + 3 Fillers) 21 Health 80 Hunger (4 Meat)XX Health 44 Hunger (4 Morsels)20 Health 46 Hunger (4 Monster Meat)8 Health RatatoullieIngredients: At least one vegetable Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: Unknown Fruit MedelyIngredients: At least one fruit Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: Unknown KebabIngredients: Twigs + Meat Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: Unknown DragonpieIngredients: At least one Dragon Fruit Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: 51 Hunger (1 Dragon Fruit + 3 Filler)XX Health Froggle BunwichIngredients: At least 1 frog leg Cooking time: 4/16 Satiates: 51 Hunger (1 frog leg + 3 filler)59 Hunger (3 frog legs + 1 filler) Butter MuffinIngredients: Butterfly Wings + Carrots Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: Unknown Bacon and EggsIngredients: One Cooked Tallbird Eggs + One Cooked Meat Cooking time: 4/16 Satiates: 68 Hunger (1 Egg + 3 Morsels)XX Health Honey HamIngredients: Two Honey + Two Meat (not morsels) Cooking time: 4/16 Satiates: 65 Hunger (2 Monster Meat + 2 Honey)35 Health81 Hunger (2 Meat + 2 Honey)XX Health PierogiIngredients: Egg + Vegetable + Meat Cooking time: 2/16 Satiates: XX HungerXX Health Mandrake SoupIngredients: Mandrake + Carrots Cooking time: 7/16 Satiates: 100 Hunger100 Health Fish SticksIngredients: Fish + Sticks Cooking time: Unknown Satiates: XX HungerXX Health From The-Official-Cooking-Combos-Thread!We know two of the new onesStuffed Eggplant (using eggplant 1 veg and two fillers?)And Fish sticks (Uses fish... and sticks..)ANDDDDDTurkey Dinner:2 raw Drumstick+1 Cooked Meat+1 raw CarrotGo ShwezThere are at last report 2/5 new ones not yet FOUND!~I thought here we could post the actual COMBO's tried. PhelsarusBeel
Have someone tried to cook with roasted seeds yet because i just noticed that you can cook then now on the fire maybe you can do something with this in the new recipes (cant test it myself just started a new game and i dont have a crock pot for now) just an idea for testing ^^
cptCalavera
nope, you can't even put roasted seeds in the crock pot.
PhelsarusBeel
ahh ok was not sure if it may work cause you can put normal ones in it as a filler. so i gues we all still need to make some cook experiments until we find the missing recipes lets hope they are not totaly nuts when it comes to ingredients
pisio
I am curious about flowers + berries, but i still don't have a crook poot. Could someone test it for me? (I hope it becomes marmelade, I love marmelade!)
Bogpad
I actually wonder, since we now can roast seeds as already mentioned, technically, this should be "new recipe" number 4, shouldn't it?so we have:Fish SticksStuffed EggplantTurkey DinnerRoasted Seedsor does cooking on the fire pit not count as "new recipe"?- - - Updated - - -GOT IT!!Turkey Dinner:2 raw Drumstick+1 Cooked Meat+1 raw CarrotCooking time about... 6/16.. maybeHunger filled 130+.Edit: Tested on Wolfgangdoes it have to be cooked meat, or does raw meat work aswell? cptCalavera
no, recipies are the ones cooked on the crock pot as far as we know.
Bogpad
ok, but one of the new recipes definately needs to have a roasted seed in it then, why else should they have implemented them in first place if not.
cptCalavera
you cant even put the rosted seed in the crock pot. So I say no on that one to They probably put it in cos u can cook (almost) all other food over fire, so why not seeds to? cptCalavera
Na, Flowers burn.Honey and butterflies also can not be cooked on the fire.
GDK
Honey should be able to be cooked on the fire to get caramel. Then we could get a new recipe with popcorn and caramel (I tried popcorn and honey, that's just a ratatouille).
Shwez
does it have to be cooked meat, or does raw meat work aswell?Yeah it worked as well, just tested it. (Hunger filled about 125)I think the reason I go with cooked meat because at first I got meaty stew from it. Now I think about it, it's because I use fried drumstick instead raw.EDIT: Yep, tested, fried chicken doesn't work. Tiaximus
I am surprised no one has noted the butter in the game. I caught a butterfly and got a yellow and purple stick of butter. Something you might look into for those last recipes.
