I think you're supposed to give him marble armor but it crashes the game right now.

Rockjaws were only dangerous if you got especially careless with them. After you learned their attack pattern they went from dangerous to just a nuisance. Lowering their damage just makes face-tanking them with some armor to kill them faster a bit more practical, instead of either just wasting a bunch more time on them or just ignoring them altogether.

What are you talking about, are you saying there should be less room for error or not? My point is that if you do make the error of being near him he'll chomp your face off. Reduced damage kinda makes fighting it less scary.

I'm saying that they weren't scary to begin with. They're slow, stupid, and easily distracted. The damage per hit was only reduced from 30 to 20, so if you were careless enough to actually be killed by one before, you'll probably still be embarrassed by them now.

they should make this more clear in game the only one I got was strident trident (Thulecite crown I could have guessed eventually but marble suit I would have never gotton)

well.... that's better than nothing. i don't really feel that most ocean bosses have loot that really make them worth killing. crab king kinda has to be killed since he's an essential part of return of them. doing more damage to enemies on the ocean seems good on paper but bad in practice. i still think it's a decent change.

cutting damage by 10 is a huge change, they would shred armor and be a large menace if you are getting overcrowded in a boat with other enemies. 

I'm still opposing on the idea that they aren't scary sometimes, for the sake of keeping the damage they used to do just to feel more dangerous.

Also, carelessness is kinda part of the game, punish those that know no better or get too greedy. Sometimes the game throws something bs at you at worst times, that's part of why I like it. So nerfing bosses or monsters won't do well unless it's actually unreasonable kinds of stats they have.

Well, no wonder mosquito skills were not removed despite all the hate - Itchcraft is too good of a name =)
I'm glad those skills don't occupy half of the tree like we feared

So far i'm not sure how new merm buildings work, but from what i see, there are tier 1 and tier 2 which basically have same function, but different art.
Point is, why draw new art if it's the same thing, and you will feel the "progression" only once. Or never, if you use c_skip

What other enemies? ?_? Seriously, this is a non-issue. The completely unaware just get a little more of a chance to not be murdered in the blink of an eye the first time they meet one, and the rest of us can kill them or chase them off a little faster.
