I'm going to talk about mods. Hear me out.

Island adventures was trying to figure out how to make the border fog in shipwrecked possible in dst.

 

I think if they figure out how to make it possible so border fogs can ferry the dst boat across the map, we will have something solid to work with in a future patch

Not yet, actually. Boats do not work propperly with mapwrapper.

Same... I wish the ocean was never implemented because it's just not fun in it's current form, I'd much rather a bigger forest shard mainland than a big blob of emptiness with odd generation cases like these that only serve to waste your time.

This would be a great change to the ocean and fix alot of problems.

I'd say that's more of a bandaid fix and there's a lot of them lately, I do miss spyglasses from shipwrecked, I think they would fit in perfectly regardless.

also, can I just say that I really liked a lot of the gameplay I've seen from you on youtube? good stuff man

I don't think anyone understood what I said in this post.

 

I'm saying that if shipwrecks fog is possible to be implemented in the base game with tangible results, we could possibly get it in dst.

 

Right now, it does not work, even in mods. If in the event a mod DOES figure it out, it proves that it's possible in dst, thus having a good reason to implement it in the base game.

Yeah I ran into that myself last month. Had NO idea I'd gone that far out until suddenly: Oh hi, terrifying abyss! :D

My first guess was they just wanted this ocean to be distinct from the singleplayer one in yet another way? But I agree, I'd totally like the wrappy, teleport-y weird fog edges of Shipwrecked's ocean a lot better.

I think the post was about how the ocean abyss is so close to the mainland edge that OP couldn't circle around it because the boat has no space, which I find both hilarious and sad, that wastes so much time!
