What do you think each survivor needs most from their skill tree?

Recommended Posts

Willow is one of my favorite characters so I would love to see an amazing skill tree for Willow. Her refresh was one of the earliest changes, and I don't think she was made as powerful as other refreshes.

She could use the infinite lighter which she has in single player. The mobile cooking is nice, but its a terrible light source. Willow should also be able to recall Bernie while Bernie is BERNIE! (big Bernie). Also, to keep up with past QoL, Bernie should teleport to Willow if Willow travels too far away, like every other follower. Right now, Bernie just returns to item form on the ground and often gets lost. Also, Bernie sometimes does the animation where they hit themself in the face instead of attacking enemies. Keep the animation, but give Bernie better priorities to fight. Finally, it's impossible to tell how beat up Bernie is while it is fighting, so if Bernie had different torn up appearances based on HP values, that'd be great indicator when to back off.

Willow my beloved.

She needs so much. The Bernie rework really did put her a couple steps behind... almost everyone.

Ok but what did they do?

I don't know, maybe some special mechanic kind of like Wanda, but now extend to all three meter, but instead of sanity, Wortox also seem to have a new meter that isn't sanity, maybe his soul can replenish or consume all three.

It was a scrapped early implementation of the current design.

You'd select a button to do what you'd normally do with the souls, heart to release for health, stomach to eat, spiral to teleport.
It was scrapped in favor of just binding the mechanics to eating, right-clicking, and dropping the soul.

Don't remove the taunt, it has an essential function. Bernie uses it to draw aggro from all nearby enemies. It is essential to bernie and he would be terrible without it since shadow creatures would be going for Willow instead of bernie otherwise, and things like grumble bees will just ignore bernie.... many examples of this.

Really? One of my primary frustrations with wortox is that he can use souls for Hunger & Health, but not sanity. It's always just seemed like such a weird limitation. Maybe not tethering to freeing souls then, but a third action that maybe costs health instead.

Yeah, I'm not joking! I really think the sanity gain doesn't fit the character. Btw, this is just for me. I'm not expecting everyone to agree.

tbh what makes me drop playing wortox is precisely how tireshome is being all the time insane. You waste a lot of time fighting shadows, getting more fuel than you will ever need very early, or farming x2 sanity food.

isnt like he gains a lot of sanity, i dont even notice it the times i played with him

I agree with you that it's barely noticeable and it really isn't. The sanity gain is very small and will only make a difference in those moments when hundreds of souls are dropping as in the fights against Bee Queen, Fuelweaver... But I think more conceptually, there's something that bothers me about the fact that he gains sanity in this, specifically. I also found it very difficult to control my sanity with Wortox, but after I started using Tam, I never had this problem again, at least from the first winter; Before winter it's also entirely possible to not have ANY sanity problems at all.

Bernie would probably need HP and/or defense the most.

In more amusing than practical, a shadowy stuffie with a rose named Charlie would amuse me, like with Charizard it fits the naming pattern.

Weaponizing fire staff, and inflicting fire status might be interesting.

but my Willow expectations are low.

Wortox -

Seeing other's health.

Automatically rejecting 21th soul, instead of pouring out 10 souls.

Willow -

Now mobs including bosses will focus to the Bernie! until Bernie!'s dead, and their aggro will not be changed who hit them while the Bernie!'s alive.

Mobs burnt to death will now drop loot on fire, instead of ash.

Wendy -

Now can apply multiple potions at the same time.

Now abigail will considered as a "player" instead of "mobs" when she's receiving damage from enemy like this one :

Wanda -

If a second-chance watch in her inventory, she won't die when her age reaches 80, for 5 seconds, while destroying the second-chance watch.

Disposable backtrek watch that anyone can use.

Wickerbottom -

Now books in her inventory will slowly regenerate their durability.

Webber -

Now the spiders will follow you wherever you go, like Wormwood's summons.

Friendly nurse spiders will give nearby spiders 1-time shield.

Spiders immune from epic screeching.

Maxwell -

Now can call back all minions at once.

for WX, i really, REALLY want a way for them to do more things faster other than walking. i might play them a little bit (they're my main) and i think them being able to get a circuit, or just a straight up perk to speed up work would be really awesome

other than that, 1 or 2 unlockable circuit perks would be nice

and i think warly getting a perk that speeds up cooking/seasoning and more buffs for himself from his seasonings would be really cool

That sort of convenience perks isn't really a good idea because everyone will avoid choosing those to spend perk points on stuff that you can't achieve on your own, e.g. bonus healing or sanity gain instead of not dropping 10 souls when picking up the 21th one, since you can just stay at 19 souls/stay away from souls when you have 20 souls on your own without perks, but you can't give yourself bonus healing or sanity gain without perks.

There'd need to be something more, since there aren't that many bosses that hit a single target instead of hitting everything nearby through an AoE, mostly just ANR stuff like dfly and bq and fire damage would generally need a buff, since now no one uses it even with hp bar mods when they know the boss is full hp and the loot won't turn into ash.
