Any reccomended mods?

Recommended Posts

I really like the Craft Pot mod, it's nothing too amazing since if you know the strong and well-known recipes like bacon n eggs, pierogui etc you don't really need to know how to make tomato juice, but it's really fun to make several different recipes for a change

I have to recommend Uncompromising Mode, it's like a free DLC to DST. Awesome mod, great changes to overall dificulty of the game, but it also introduces new fantastic mechanics to deal with problems existing in generic DST. As a veteran of Don't Starve I got bored of many repetitive tasks in the game and decreasing dificulty as you play. This mod gave me a long forgotten feeling of surprise and anger I always felt when I lost a world in a stupid way while learning the game (especially playing singleplayer Don't Starve).

I would also advise to either try this mod with a friend, so you can revive using Telltale Heart (as Life Giving Amulets work differently) or choose a stronger character to have some room for failure.

if you want to use the mods every "pro" player is using

1. Observor

2. Nightvision

3. Insanity Begone

4. Lazy Controls

I don't know what the first of the list is.
About the rest, the second one is the only that really is cheating IMO. The other 2 are QOL.

It allows you to pull the camera angle out to see a larger area, which is great for screenshots, but is also often used by "pro player" to see the entire map directly.

Lazy Controls are indeed Qols, but the ability to cheat is also huge, and it is often used to send a lot of illegal data to the server to do something that ordinary players cannot do, such as simple water walking, moving on the y axis, contact abnormal states, etc.

"Fixed skinned lantern lights (updated)". Won't help you in any way,  but will make your skinned lantern experience 10 times better, enjoyable and immersive.

I think he changed the paper lantern just so it'd be different. The salt lamp's color is off, too. Some of them look pretty good, but some of them make the light really dark.

Anyway I remembered this is a mod, I forgot since it seems like it'd be something that's base: Steam Workshop::Wormwood Flowers Extender (steamcommunity.com)

I want to recommend ActionQueue RB2 users to use ActionQueue RB3 now. (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2873533916&searchtext=actionqueue)

The author is more active at updating and the mod currently has slightly more features(e.g.: erase paper and reap action)

Besides this,

Geometric Placement - a must for base builder

Geometric drop - if you want to drop items for decoration

Show Bundle - make your life so much easier

Snow Tile Disabler - no more snow blinding

If you have trouble with the farming arrows: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3035796071 (I swear, I always make the wrong crop combos because I misread one of the arrows).

What's your experience with this mod? I know it says that it crashes with dedicated servers. and of course, the mod is "don't starve alone" but what happens if people join? Are the caves rooted?

it is quite great, the only times that I had any performance issues was when my internet had some other problems, but even then it still was good, and I only found one mod that does not work well with this one (the wormwood bloom predictor it just keep different values based on the shard, but its only visual).

When you turn it on, it only allows you to play on it once it is set to one player, and the mod also adds a button on world settings screen to turn it back to multiplayer deactivating itself on the process.

It works by quite literally turning off the shard that you are not, and when you change shards, it just calculates how long you where out.

I've just spoken to some IA people and one of them tells me that it directly clashes with island adventures. it's a bit unfortunate. Would have been nice if it could have worked with island adventures 4 shard world with base dst.

Hopefully the author has an interest to iron out the conflict.

Seems like a good suggestion to make though

Pretty much a rework to the game with new features, but generally harder.
