Possible, but "A few" means 2-3 to me, 4 is a stretch but reasonable, but I'd be concerned about the state of an update if "a few weeks" somehow spiraled into a month. We shall see though.

Yep, same for me, if it's 4 weeks, so a month, we aren't really in the "a few" case anymore.
Or we just overthink about this and It's just a matter of semantics ^^'
I think that a little message would be a good think, even if it must be delayed, I prefer to know

I think the last time a beta was significantly delayed they discussed it somewhere in this thread, so I have hope its either this week or we'll get some sort of message.

Scrappy Scavengers was pretty underwhelming in hindsight. The skill tree changes were nice, but ultimately very minor in the grand scheme of things, most of the more notable additions where so incredibly lategame they'll rarely be used and While the Junkyard setpiece is cool, it really doesn't have a lot of unique items.

IMO the only really relevant addition was the acid rain. Ultimately, the update felt like it should've had a skill tree or two attatched. That said, I wonder what the QOL in this update is about, so far this year we've had megabasing and Ocean.

I kinda feel like if they don't say anything about it today we'll probably be waiting until next week.

This is certainly an update that was geared toward lategame. It helped me with a lot of gripes I had with the endgame, especially storage with the elasticspacer and redoing the champ over and over got massively leveraged to be easier (from only needing 1 static, to gleams/charged glass being easier to farm, to Wagstaff finding the restrained static easier...). The optimizations were also very nice for an endgame context, alongside the tweaks to the skill trees (Wormwood got brambleshade armor from this update!)

I also personally like it for smaller things, especially Wobot. Its basically a one stop solution to a lot of niche sorting issues, particularly utilizing its unloaded functionality. Since Winbot lacks this, Wobot is still the best way to sort items out from areas you don’t visit frequently/long enough for winbot to do. I myself currently use it for my 20+ spider den farm, and I just leave wobot in a position where I can easily repair it if it “dies” (for reference, when Wobot runs out of durability unloaded, it will automatically break at the location you placed it down as a failsafe).

I think its one of those updates you are not really going to get a ton of value out of early-midgame, but I feel it has a ton of lategame QOL and I really appreciate it for that.

I can't remember what time the stream announcements are, and how long before we can confidentally say there won't be a stream this week.

There's also the chance they aren't doing a stream this update for some reason, but who knows.

I'm really starting get concerned with the update.

Yeah, I can understand that. But I think it would've been better spreading out that lategame QOL over the year's updates while having Scrappy Scavengers focus on something more accessible.

Im really really nervosuly hoping they give us the beta tomorrow. Im a bit sad because they teased us saying they have something for us "in a few weeks" and "we should have something for you relatively soon" and now its been a Month since then without communication. Does anyone know what time they typically release or announce the betas? I know its thursday but i mean what time of day roughly

There is a chance we get it shadow dropped but they've been doing streams before content lately and to my knowledge they haven't announced those the day of but I could be wrong.

I feel like what's most likely to happen is that we get a stream date tomorrow since a stream wasn't announced today.

I think it's more so a case of the early to mid game more or less being finished already so their primary focus being on creating a end game which makes sense as that'll need a lot more attention for now.

Yeah, I don't disagree, I just think it could've been paced better.

Perhaps, If we don't have anything tomorrow then I have no idea what's going on.

I mean sure I guess it makes sense to make super late game stuff for players who have done everything there is to do to so that they still stay engaged with the game….

But at the exact same time most games as a service (which you can argue rather or not DST qualifies as or not…) designs updates around Early to Mid Game content for players so they can pull in new players with new content.

as much as people hate Fortnite for whatever reason, the developers know how to keep players engaged by doing things like blowing up the game map and building a brand new one so players who became overly familiar with one season, has to start fresh in the next.

Although both were considered “Flops” Marvels Avengers and SS Kill the Justice League both tried to keep players engaged by doing Episodic “Seasons” of content.

it’s extremely unhealthy for a game like DST to focus so heavily on content roughly maybe 10% of the playerbase will ever reach. But that’s just my opinion.

Looks like a drawing video tonight. Cool stuff, but I was excited to hear about an update.

Source? I don't think there's been an announcement either way.

Edit: Ah, they're live. Weird there was no announcement on the forum.

Edit 2: The art streams might actually be why the beta stream schedule has changed, so I still have some hope for tommorow.

True but it's not like they stopped making early game content they're just not making as much to likely avoid over bloating the early game which could overwhelm newer players.

Finally I was beginning to lose hope.

PRAYING for a combo of Walter, Wendy and Wortox in regards to skill trees.

Other than that some biome reworks would be great.

Werent 2 skill trees only supposed to come out? Or am I just misremembering stuff

I don't think we have anything concrete either way, but I was more meaning any grouping of. So either Wendy/Walter, Walter/Wortox, Wortox/Wendy.

Probably I shouldn't hold my breath for Wortox skilltree considering how they made a gap between premium characters...
But my red fella has been done so dirty by Wanda who stole and improved on his premise
+he remains the same for entirety of the game without progression/synergy

Btw buying Wormwood to trade healing items for bramble husks feels like buying DLC for my DLC character
because the only item Wortox synergizes with is locked behind another character [*]

For real. And for a paid character too. Im do annoyed that I spent money on something worse than the base game survivors. They're taking forever to update him too. Love the game, love the team, but this is bs.
