Request to redesign Triumphant Warly

When imagining an evil chef of sorts I really didn't imagine him being a dollar store biker. Hair and all is nice, could have a sort of a smirk or something going, other than that - his outfit is just all over the place.

It's tasteless and bland as the chef would say, not much style in it while wearing could mistaken him not as a chef but some poor back alley swindler.

All put together?  Yes.  But I like the hair and face, just with different outfits.  Same with the outfits - I think other characters wear them better.

I like these as additions to the game.  Maybe Warly could look a bit more menacing or calculating, instead of sorta passive like he is here... but I like these.

I don't like how the hair on the promo art looks amazing yet here it's like he just got a hair cut from the worst barber in the world

I think the head skin is good the way it is, although I do think giving him a more evil expression would kick it up a notch. Why is his outfit just a gothier version of his normal outfit, though? Most of the other characters who specialise in a particular field in-universe have their triumphant skin designed around it, like Wolfgang's wrestling bodysuit, Wigfrid's armour, Winona's industrial coveralls and Wes's cool artist ensemble (although that last one is a bit afield from his usual clowning theme, but it's also less cliché than an evil clown/mime). Even if they don't have an outfit tailored to their personal theming they do generally dress more formally, like Wendy, Willow and Wickerbottom's fancy dresses and Wilson's fancy suit, but Warly's isn't like that either. I guess Triumphant Wanda's big shiny black overcoat isn't especially similar to her default oufit or especially formal, but it's still less casual than Warly's outfit.

On the one hand, this is not without precedent; Triumphant Woodie also looks a lot like default Woodie with a more gothic palette, right down to the lack of change in facial expression. On the other hand I'm pretty sure the consensus is that Triumphant Woodie is also an underwhelming skin.

Probably I'll end up using this Warly skin but putting him in someone else's clothes instead of using the outfit that's supposed to go with it. I do like the head skin a lot; it's tied with Snowfallen as my new favourite.

Never saw a game where they could add a skin bundle where half of the characters have the most bizzare designs not necessarily in a good way, some of them don't even fit the game artstyle (The League of Legends spear) and then see in the forum people to complain about the most harmless, innocent and actually maybe the coolest skin in set

I recognize subjectivity in art! but there are criteria to fit the artstyle.  For example just think of the content in the workshop, you cannot use the excuse of the subjectivity in art to add content that does not belong to the game.

Lately the klei artists are very flexible on this aspect, but they have the justification that the content and nature of the game is also evolving with the tenth anniversary.
But I'm saying that skins like the battle spear that seems to come from another game from a Moba is not a good sign for the artstyle, so the fact that I'm seeing that the only complains from community are directed to a very innocent skin while other there are clearly other issues from the remaining skins surprised me.

You cannot use the excuse of subjectivity in art here.

I'm pretty sure that the author of this post just wanted to share the fact that this skin could have been a lot cooler than what it is currently with 100% good intentions.

Looks to me they went for more of a French Punk kind of thing. I like that they're exploring other parts of the character rather than just "chef guy"

Yeah i do think his skin could be better, but a Evil smirk is all that's needed.

Once you equip a top hat and a walking cane you will have a voodoo shaman, hah. The skin is nice! Not every cosmetic has to be exuberant.

Here to add my voice that his expression should be changed to an evil smirk before the update goes cold.

My only problem with this skin is his MEH face, I know it is the default one, but Triumphant skins usually give the character an evil smile or some new expression. Triumphant Warly is just a cool haircut with a MEH face on it.
