Let's dish. How many of you ignore content and why? (Beta spoilers included)

honestly its just hard to find peeps i want to make it to late-game with to enjoy the late game content very often if at all, and i get bored playing alone.

Just make an open world. I dont know how it is on pc but on console there are other people just looking for fun too. Its super fun with a mic too and coordinating, or just shooting the wind with idle talk.

Pretty much everything that's optional for survival I usually put off until I feel like I can confidently take it, and by then I grow bored and start new worlds, tbh. There should be more **** that just comes at you and wrecks you like the seasonal bosses.

I used to love sailing. I would sail 30x more than anything else. It was so fun and relaxing to build out a cool boat and go around fishing and exploring. Then they kept doing things to make sailing cringe and boring like Wavey Jones and so I very rarely sail now.

Let's see..

I turn forest petrification off because it's ugly. This honestly is more of a disadvantage as I rely predominantly on meteor showers for further nitre because of this.

I turn wildfires off. Way too destructive to unrenewable resources or structures and your base.

Same with fire hounds. Same reason.

Monkey raids I also turn off, if I want to fight them I can use the flare. If not for the curse mechanic I'd probably leave them on. I hate the curse and wonkey. Not fun or exciting for me at all. Massive pass.

I'm going to be turning off the new earthquakes. I don't need endless boulders falling on my head and cluttering up my caves. No thank you. 

All other content I leave on. Have done all bosses multiple times solo except enraged Klaus.

I definitely see basically zero reason to do the current new content. Just a massive increase in annoyance to get maybe one somewhat decent item and a bunch of meh ones.

Aside from unskippable stuff like hounds, deeclops for eyebrella, and eye of terror for eye mask, I ignore almost everything in the game, basically ignoring as much as I can get away with for the first few hundred days while I build a nice looking base. Then I go looking for people to play with and do content together.  I mainly play like this since people who are really into decorative base building and also good at it are usually a minority of the playerbase.

Sailing is the only thing I avoid. I've got over 3000hrs in the game and have done so much that most of my enjoyment comes from playing with the friends I've made and continuing my Wurt Mega..I've defeated bosses and do all the new content. Some is better than others. 

The thing I dislike most is sailing.. the ocean is empty and tedious, i also dont like farming lol, i love the giants and the decorative options u have with em but man.

With all the world settings options available now you can play anyway you want..And I think that's great.

Also uh, Toadstool usually. Isolated from everything else, won't ever appear unless you hunt it down for lamps. Which require refueling like everything else unless you kill CC, a few times if you want to use the hat/have more than just a few...so even that's a very specific case within a very specific case, for something that's already optional content (and isn't that different from spamming end tables until post-end-game).

I tried to tame a beefalo when domestication was first added and immediately got impatient and bored and haven't done it since. If I need to haul a big heavy thing more than ten tiles or so I either switch to Wolfgang or convince someone else to do it.

Also I hate the monkey raids but I don't always turn them completely off, sometimes I just turn the frequency down and pack a fire staff.

I often start the world with a few friends. But they manage to make me the one who does everything, so I burn out and never get to anything I want instead...
