Creatorofswamps
I know that many, after reading this Title, will ask what? Why do we need to update these birds? But I think that the new addition that I will propose for puffin will have a small but very good effect on the atmosphere and immersion in the world of the game. The bottom line is that puffin is an interesting seabird, but in the game it is shown only by the fact that it swims in the water. My suggestion is to add 2 things to their behavior: .1. let them sometimes leave random small fish on the of their Landings on the ground. Kingfisher is already doing this in Hamlet, and since they are both birds that feed on fish, it makes sense (in reality they only eat fish) .2. the sentence is the Add to the World of puffin burrows on the shores of the ocean, it may sound strange, but in reality they Dig burrows, live in them and hatch eggs. It will work in the same way as the rabbit hole, in the morning a puffin will come out of it, stand for a while and fly away for the whole day (ordinary puffins will still appear on the shore and in the sea) and will come in the evening (and disappear into the hole). you can dig in the hole and with some chance to get an egg from there, and if you dig it out at night, you can get a Stunned puffin. This mini puffin update will give small food sourc For new players (of fish and eggs), but most importantly e more atmosphere and immersion in the world of constants. I use Google translator, so I hope I can reliably convey my point, I'm sorry if there are mistakes, and thank you for reading my post! special thanks to Klei for adding puffin at all, as this graceful bird rarely appears in games + the dead end has an unused animation, it was not added, probably because there is no such fish in the constant, but I think it would be cool and cute if we saw such an animation occasionally(✿◠‿◠) 31 1

_zwb
Every time I want to place a boat, there's ALWAYS A GOD DAMNED PUFFIN at my cursor's position and it will ALWAYS leave a seed behind. I hate this. Please add noblock tag to them and stop them dropping stuff 5

In fact, it is strange that crows come to the islands, puffin spends a lot of time on the islands, and crows usually do not fly to the islands (I would like puffin to normally be on the islands of macaques, hermits and moon island).

Nnumber3
this is sounds like such a small thing yet really these kinds of things in games really ties games together, reminds me of pengulls but much more atmospheric and sensical. instead of them just jumping out of nowhere. also, they are the 1 of the cutest things in the game and expansion of this concept would made me so happy. they even have a gameplay purpose other than being cute, I'm impressed. Notecja
Small things are important, tbf I would love a different birds than crows to appear on moon island and in monkey quay... Sometimes those seeds do to me positive difference but as well are so annoying in water... 1

loopuleasa
I like it. I especially like the idea of little islands of loot scattered around the barren ocean. 3

I think dst lacks alot of immersion. Adding little islands in the ocean with puffins would be cool too. THIS should be Klei's main focus of updates.

Cloakingsumo198
This post makes me want to see an ecosystem update where mobs will seem more "lively". Btw killing a puffin while they do their fish animation should add a fish to their drops. Maybe even have multiple animations for the type of fish they pull up too so it's like a lottery. 2

Hamlet does it very well and klei made that, most mobs have a home and interact with the environment- the gold dragons in iron biomes drinking from the waters to make gold, termites replenishing iron in those biomes, thunder birds protecting iron deposits, ect. 1 1

Yes, the interaction of the creatures in Hamlet is very good. Dst needs to strive for this because we know that developers can do it

Not part of an ecosystem, just there. For example, volt goats just hop around in circles, it would be cool if they could eat cactus and interact more, they live in the Oasis but we never see how they are adapted to it in action. Also spiders in dst vs spider monkeys in hamlet: Spiders make a nest in a remote locationm often in forests. Spider monkeys make nests in forests, but use the environment to make their nests by using trees and such. Things like that i like, we have depth dwellers who kinda do that but there is no prey to eat in there, in hamlet there are alot of mobs who try to eat each other in areas with predators like the jungle.

But really, they could eat prickly branches or cacti, and in the summer they would migrate from the desert to the oasis because there are no storms and there is water 5 minutes ago, Jakepeng99 said: Spider monkeys make nests in forests, but use the environment to make their nests by using trees and such. In this regard, Catcoon are shown quite well, they go about their business, hunt, play. Pig people look fake all they do if they are not tamed is walk and sometimes eat.the behavior of Catcoon is more reasonable than that of intelligent pigs
