Antynomity
I've seen a complaint about the new armours and items removing character diversity especially looks wise so I thought about it a bit and... I think it'd be cool if while the player is not in combat the hood of the void cowl came off the head of the user and the front spikes of the brightshade helm came up revealing the face of the user again the spikes wouldn't go up even if outside of combat if the goggles ability of the helm is needed (eg the player is walking through miasma). Hornete
I think characters being obscured with the new armor is thematically really interesting. The farther and deeper you go into whatever power, the more you lose yourself and your personality is a theme I'm liking a lot. Just as the ancients lost themselves to the shadows, with only murals and their shadows for us to know what they potentially looked like. It's an aspect of the rifts updates I'm really interested in and enjoying so far. The late game delves into much more of a power fantasy than before thematically(when Dont Starve was built on the complete opposite idea of a power fantasy), but at the cost of your humanity! Buut also, your idea is pretty neat, I'm always a sucker for more animations and visual quirks. Wouldnt mind if Wanda/DLC characters in general got unique faces for the hood based on their skin, they're already special with the unique ghosts they have. Baark0
I mean I personally only equip the brightshade stuff when I need to kill things, so making it reactive to combat seems kinda redundant, especially for brightshade helm since you need to kill cc to unlock it and at that point you have the lunar crown, so why wear bs helm over crown? -Variant
Honestly I find it really cute that you're kind of giving yourself to the factions. You become faceless pawns, which, I don't think I dare say how that in itself is fitting. Also very knightly, too! To war, you faceless warriors! mblt
I can see it being a bit of an issue with multiple people running around with their character's obfuscated, it'd quickly get confusing as to who's who as everyone looks as good as the same, though every other time you're not wearing the armor or if you're playing solo, this isn't exactly an issue. Maybe you could have a way to change how it looks manually instead of requiring combat? Like how a skin/belonging would work. Two versions of both the hood and the helmet where the hood would be on but won't hide your face and the visor of the helmet is lifted up like the Brightsmithy? You'd be able to fix how the armor looks and have the power of choice if people worry about the obscurity of character too much.
WhackE
It's not a bad idea and it's cool visually, but it's extra work, and unnecessary extra work at that.
chirsg
I really like the art. For the most part, the designs of all the tools are done well to my tastes, but I understand if it doesn't sit well with others. There are other practical armors that fill the need to see it as an accessory to your characters. I hate being "that" guy who gives you the alternative in something that's already in game, but I feel like it has to be said. Even then, the cowl offers a very cool way of offering a bit of individuality when it comes to characters. I like that, but of course, I'm not everyone. With the brightshade armor, I appreciate it the most on public servers because with the helmet, a character looks like a knight and I have to click on the character to find out who this "Mysterious warrior" is. Adds a bit of romance to the game. Anyway, this positivity is giving me diabetes, so back to the scheduled criticisms I have for the game; Boulder cave ins suck. Re-work/remove them. Awful game design. Armor good, boulders bad.
