Evelo
Was doing a Long Winter game but decided Light's Out is more fun. Poultice is pretty useful so was wondering if there is a way to obtain Honey without the day time. I've managed to get Bee Boxes but it seems Klei fixed it so you no longer get honey while the boxes are off screen. Solutions or is Honey just a rarity that can only be obtained from destroying Bee Hives and Bee Queen? Brago-sama
Could farm killer bees for honey drops. Unless you're Wendy tho, kinda not worth the hassle. I suppose you could make some kind of loop with lighting a hive on fire, have the flingo extinguish it/freeze the bees, and kill frozen bees. Could also just make healing salves as they're much easier to mass produce Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/146591-honey-in-lights-out/#findComment-1626070 Share on other sites
Duck986
I mean, Lights Out is a challenge that limits you from some things, so you'll have to find alternate ways for the same stuff. I'd make a bee queen farm if I was desperate for honey, if I were you Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/146591-honey-in-lights-out/#findComment-1626083 Share on other sites

Unfortunately, I think it's not b/c the boxes are off screen but because they don't generate honey during Winter anymore (at least, that's what I remember the hotfix being). The main thing I can think of is to turn into Werebeaver and nom on the Bee Queen hive to maximize the amount of honey you gain since the Werebeaver can munch on the spawner for far longer than a hammer. Cheggf
Get on that tumbleweed grind to try to get a killer bee to try to get a single honey. maxwell_winters
I wish they added a cave insect biomes with mobs that drop news resources and honey. So, in the normal mode, it would be "yeah, whatever, extra honey" but it would be essencial in Lights Outs. SuperDonuts
Does the dwarf star act like sunlight for bees? It works for plants so it should for bees. Tranoze
I dont know if this work as im too lazy to test this in game, but my theory is you can burn beeboxes or bee hive to let the bee out. Burn bee hive to spawn bee. Capture them. Remember to bring icestaff to extinguish hive. Use bee to build bee boxes. Burn beeboxes to spawn bees. Kill the frozen bee with flingo. This way you can farm honey safely at base and dont have to run to killer bee biome.
