Minecraft has way worse death penalties. In DST I die and respawn directly on top of my corpse for basically free, sleeping whoever killed me in the process. In Minecraft, when you revive you don't lose max Hp and Hunger or sanity only experience and item also you can just wear armor that stacks and doesn't slow you down, there are so many ways to farm XP and you can just ride a horse there you can outrun most enemy in Minecraft and there a lot of ways to escape combat, as for item you just keep the really important stuff at home or when you go on a long journey build a second shelter and chest to keep, enemies in Minecraft isn't that hard, you can just mine for a bit to find iron craft armor live near village trade with them cover the entire village with stone so that nothing can get in and just live there forever and you just have to dig a lot of stone, DST you can only use the revival thing once and have to craft it again can the Wanda clock that only works with other characters, not Wanda also you need Wanda which is time-consuming to unlock or just buy her, in Minecraft, you can just build a wall and nothing can attack you, but in DST wall is almost useless and everything is more deadly. Well, I tend to play by myself and started on regular Don't Starve, so I tend to play self-sufficient rather than teamly. That's not to say I won't help out, 'cos I totally will, but I don't really do the "one specific role and stick to it" thing. I guess my role could best be titled as "Scout/Gatherer", but with "gathering" being wide open. Like, if I see a bunch of gold rocks along the way I'll "gather" gold by mining it, if I chop wood for my own campfire in a forest, I'll chop enough to make a whole stack too, thereby being a logger. If I happen upon some clockwork creatures and have good enough health and my armor and weapon with me (which I almost ALWAYS do), I might be a fighter for a minute so I could "gather" their gears. But Don't Starve is an indie game made by a small company, and that DEFINITELY impacts the game and Klei itself's overall feel and the way they interact with their fans. Well, they can sometimes be a hair repetitive or really specific. Like? They're creative and involve really thinking about the game and its world. Okay, I finally managed to put this into spoilers so it doesn't take up as much room, but I HATE how the quote box starts _so_ right at the top of the post, you can't...push it...down! I just...I can't get the cursor positioned in such a way that the enter key will do what I want. Not only did they populate from 2 average crows when Wes brought them to the Constant, they became invincible, learned perfect English, and there's even a conspiracy about the existence of a Crow Mafia. Now that's pretty insane. I just spent FOREVER answering the second set of questions with all kinds of snark, examples and pictures, and...SOMEHOW I DELETED THE WHOLE FREAKING THING WHILE JUST TYRING TO PUT IT IN A SPOILER. I...I can't. I'm just not answering this now. I can't make myself type it all again. Main things: If it was a 4x game, then like Civilization (insert funny story from my Civ days here that I am NOT typing again), what do you mean how WOULD I react if there was a thirst mechanic, I played an entire 300 + day challenge with the Thirst mod on: and a fully 3D DST would look kinda like this: (I didn't make this, it's from the First Person mod.) And HECK NO to it having paid DLCs or being only on consoles. Also, insert lame comic book nerd joke about "GL" meaning "Green Lantern" instead of Gacha Life, here.
