Right now you travel throw it at "regular" speed (asuming you are sitting on a chair at 0km/s speed and you are near of sea level). Their technological evolution to their downfall. And to see where Maxwell ties into any of this... He had to get the book from somewhere or someone. I wouldn't meddle with time considering how many paradoxes that may make, then again the Constant is completely broken in that regard. Time and space is split into many fragments like Fuelweaver suggest, torn... like loads of public servers with randomly generated worlds with multiple Wendies cause that's a thing. It still exists and isnt made by someone even if the real conception of it isnt like we experience it. You can travel throw it (seems like only towards as far as we know) and you can experience the entropy.
