Lifting weights feels like a break in the gameplay

That was my original post. I said that I was considering 0.3125 mightiness one "tick" just to make the numbers easier to look at. A "tick" is nothing of actual meaning and was just a concept that I decided on to make a post about it less full of long decimal numbers.

It's not supposed to be easy at the beggining.

But it's supposed to be fun. Not sure why it's hard to understand, but I'll just copy and paste what I said for the third time I think.

"Stand around holding some consumable item to fill your meter and not get nerfed" is not a good mechanic regardless of how often it is, what you get for it, and how well they dressed it up for the character. Instead of food, wolfgang now consumes time having fun.

Character too OP? Zero will or ability to fix it? Just make him go sit in a corner for at least 10% of the game. 10% less OP. Boom. Genius.

and AGAIN, getting food inst hard and less in servers that arent balanced for solo, but takes time, time, time is all, less time cooking more time smashing things, less time opening and closing bundles more time playing, less time gathering potatoes more time gathering other stuff

once you get it up its a factory just build six crockpots and cycle through them bundle them up and you don't have to do it for a long while

i already said

you manage more food = more time wasted managing more food

is simple, if you enjoy it is ok but i think the refresh was a gameplay improvement in that area

I'd says that jumping on the gym platform for 15 seconds a day or just lifting the gembell for 13 seconds a day is actually less time consuming than farming, cooking and bundling food and making sure you're always full.

I think you can spare 15 seconds of otherwise constantly insane speedrun hardcore meta gameplay.

literally the time you need to pick up all the food dropped by the bundle is more time than getting mighty with the gym xDDD

I think Wolfgang’s “weights” Dumbells should have different Weights to them: the smallest one made of stone even while puny form will be passively lifted by Wolfgang as you walk around with it equipped in your hand slot, the Golden Dumbell should be Heavier and require him to get to Medium size first to lift, at that point he can passively walk around with it same as the smaller one, The GEMbell would need him to already be Mighty- But it keeps him from ever dropping out of Mighty because he is always juggling the weight to stay fit- These items will lose durability if thrown as weapons OR If Wolfgang gets attacked while juggling them and drop them on the ground.

I really want his rework to be fun and I think if the Dumbells were able to be pumped as he walks about doing other stuff: this would solve most peoples problem of just standing around Idol doing nothing.

It also adds some risk to things like Frog Rain causing him to drop the weight.

Maybe it’s something better left to a mod, but I figured I would throw the idea out there just encase Klei likes it.

When riding on a Beefalo he should be able to passively lift any of the weights as he uses the Beef to gather resources & fight.

There's a simple solution: don't do it. Getting 100 Mightness from dumbbells is ridiculous as restore WX78 from insane with wet garland, and anyone in their right mind would choose premium items over the most basic items to satisfy their highest needs.

I wouldn't mind the new mightiness, I wouldn't mind the horrible sanity debuff for not directly hugging another player every time dusk came, I would tolerate it all if they just gave Wolfgang his old speed perk, nobody who knows what they're doing wears the marble suit if they're trying to kite anyway, you just take it off, run, and put it back on when you're going to get hit. Nobody wears a piggyback once you get a krampus sack, and nobody hauls statues without a beefalo anyway since in addition to ignoring the speed penalty of the statue, beefalo are faster than normal characters still. His consolation prize for losing his speed bonus is just not as good as moving faster overall
 

This entire update feels like one big nerf, and after releasing Wanda, a character that does as much damage as mighty Wolfgang, and makes all speed bonuses irrelevant once you get lucky with the mactusk drops for a winter or two, it really makes me worry for the fate of WX and Wicker.

Sums up my thoughts pretty well.

Can someone create a mod where Wolfgang passively lifts the weight as long as it is equipped in his hand slot you can still move around pumping iron.. to get Mighty, I would love to see if that ends up being too “Broken” or if it helps make lifting the weight to get mighty less of a “stand around idol simulator”

I mean it can’t be too hard right? When he goes to gather resources he can just set it on the ground to gather (just like how if your holding a Pickaxe but do the Toast Emote)

It would allow people to “Passively” lift weights while still walking about doing stuff.
