Mega Hound Wave

Spitballing a bit here, but maybe a way to summon a really big hound wave (20-30 hounds coming in the span of couple minutes) that will make normal hound waves stop for a set amount of time (first coming to mind 20 days- but maybe less or more is more appropriate).

How to summon it, no idea. Maybe a special drop from a Varg?

Yeah, something like that. I was just thinking about the lag and stuff. But the more the better, make it a challenge.

Nothing, that's the point. You're just pushing several dog waves into one, and whether you deal with it by houndius shootius or kite them for a day, it's just to get rid of them for a longer while.

Hounds wave themselves are not a challenge though? And people who struggle with them usually just turn them off.

I hate this suggestion, play on Xbox or on any platform that has serious lag issues and you will very quickly understand why- I HATE THIS SUGGESTION.

Keep in mind I say that as a #Wendy Main so you should be able to tell just how horrible it is.

But.. if you want more hounds you can set them to Tons now: I did this once and I regretted it, I now toggle them to much less or none at all.

Hound Waves aren’t fun, lagging hound Waves aren’t fair, and playing alone having 30 hounds chase you for lol’z purposes will wear out its novelty real quick like (set them to tons you’ll find out for yourself)

Varg Horn - Summons a unique Hound Wave encounter that includes a Varg. Defeating the encounter without the special Boss Varg despawning due to lacking targets prevents the Horn from being used - and Hound Waves from spawning - for 20 or more days.

Most other threats can be mitigated in some way; fighting a boss encounter just to keep Hounds away is probably a lot to ask as compared to the usual "players within x units of this structure won't be attacked by Hounds"

The real problem is default settings make it so that on a long-term world or if you've been on the server for a while you get attacked roughly every 4 days, which really sucks. Another Anti-Hound Horn that just prevents Hound Waves or stops a Hound Wave in its warning phase might be justifiable using drops from Vargs.

Just don't play on Xbox.

 

 

But in all sincerity, I don't think that adding an optional consumable item would be a problem at all. Just... don't consume the item.

And the idea of the post wasn't to have "more hounds", but to have more control over when hounds spawn.
