Let homeless catcoons make a den out of a tree stump

im pretty sure those dens to have a regrow at somepoint they just respawn sometimes

Each den have a number of cats that can respawn. When is wasted the den shows like broken but it repairs after a while so catcoons can respawn again at some point BUT the dens itself dont respawn so if a den is destroyed you lose that den forever

I have a long term world without a single catcoon and i waited 2k days for their dens to respawn since is a commom myth that the dens reappear (like many others like torch rising temperatures, thermal stone+isolation stacking, etc). The only way to get catcoon loot in that world is to activate winter feas and sleep under a tree to get cat caps and deconstruc it with a green staff

A catcoon den building set. Add cute things, feathers, sewing kit and wood and what not. A den out of random junk they like to collect and play with but the den would be 1 life every few to 5 days or something like that. Decent source of meat but primarily used for cat tail farming.

Unpopular opinion: but I don’t think everything in the game needs a renewable option, in a Uncompromising Wilderness Survival game, taking extra caution so mobs and resources in your world don’t go fully extinct should play a MASSIVE Role in that.

However.. on other game modes (such as endless) then maybe resources can Respawn?

I just feel like some players prefer playing in a way where proper care for your worlds plays a huge part into how long you survive, and there are other players who just want things easy so they want most features to renew themselves.

And that’s FINE but what it shouldn’t do is be something Klei changes to cater to the group wanting them to renew themselves.. while at the same time making the players who enjoyed having to properly care for their environment have one less thing they even need to care for.

You guys for whatever reason like to try to go to odds against me & my suggestions: But I always look at things from both perspectives, it’s fine to want renewable catcoon dens, it is NOT So fine if that became the only choice for players who didn’t want them renewable.

we arent talking about being able to mass farm catcoons, we are talking about having a way to create more when a X000 days worlds lose every catcoon den. Remember that world gen can be messed and give you only few of these dens in a biome where a raid boss that creates fires and destroys everything in his path can be summoned

it coud be like 1 den every 1000 days and i will be happy. I also like having to take care of certain resources but having content that can be lost forever isnt fun neither, making them respawn very slowy or with hard work can make happy both sides
