Bunnymen usefulness: Dfly vs. Beequeen

Recommended Posts

I need advice on which is more useful: bunny hutches near dragonfly, or bunny hutches near beequeen? Eventually, I plan to set up enough to have them near both bosses, but for now I can only choose one. Scaled furnaces, chests or flooring vs the beequeen crown, bundling wrap and jellybeans on a year 3 world with Maxwell and Wilson? (We have winters feast turned on, and have access to gift wrap, so the bundling wrap is a bit unneeded.)

Honestly, entirely up to you. I can't really give you good advice on this, since that depends only on what you deem more important and what your world needs.

From what you said, you plan to set up both- so you probably aren't in need of jellybeans just yet and since you have gift wrap... Dragonfly might be harder to set up though, so again, your decision.

Whenever I face a dilemma like that, I throw a coin. Because when it lands on one side, I either find myself fine with it or disappointed and can ignore the result.

Dragonfly is very double if you wall off the larvae, which lets face it, almost everyone does (and easier further with pan flute). Bee Queen is horribly hard for me in solo unless you use cheese. With two people, it's definitely better, but just from my experience, I'd say Dragonfly is easier.

I'd make a world and practice both fights and see which you find easier without bunnies.

I will pick dragonfly if it is up to me. Green gem = thulecite, which is more useful than bee queen crown. Klaus drop bee queen crown too and is way easier to manage.

In my current warly only solo world I needed to kill bee queen for the bundling wrap BP. Warly hambat + spiced voltgoat jelly + thulecite suit + bee keeper hat + 50 bunnymen. After the fight my thulecite suit is down to 10% durability. Bunnymen is just not that useful in the last phase of the fight so I still take alot of damage toward the end of the fight.

Use winona's catapult to kill grumble bees, fight bee queen on a boat so she stay at one spot seems to be the easier way.

I would choose the one that you have less practise.

With df you can guarantee the additional scale plus df get stunlocked with enough damage. Also the bunnymen can help you deal with the lavaes.

Bee queen doesnt do aoe damage but her bees will hurt the army and bee queen scream making all mobs (merm warriors are inmune)

Dragonfly is one of the easiest fights & bee queen one of the hardest so if you wanted to skip one of the fights bq would probably be better.

Walled df is one of the easier but a legit df fight is one of the most difficult (and im not taking in count the pan flaute in both fights)

As most have said: dragonfly is much easier with most characters, especially when you have a wall to trick the lavae. Dodging her attacks is tricky, especially as a non-host. But with just a panflute, an array of cheap armor, a hambat or better and some healing you’re good to go.

Also an important reason why players often use bunnies on BQ is the fact that she doesn’t have a damaging AoE. Dragonfly however does. Bunnies also make it so that her bees don’t typically gang up on just one target.

If you’re worried about beating dfly you can craft strong armor such as marble suits, thulecite crowns and so on. I personally prefer to just dodge her attacks as well as I can manage and have spare, cheap armor.

I never attempted her as Maxwell though. I assume that you can easily die if you aren’t quick enough with the panflute or if a lavae gets past your wall. Still I think kiting (as well as you can) is the best option.

Make it Medium Rare for me, pls, don't overcook it.

Go for BQ setup since, as others already stated above, DF can be easily handled with only Ham Bat, Pan Flute, wall-of-shame to keep Larvae out of the "heroic" mix, and 6-hits kite general pattern (if ping <50). Or, to minimize chaos, you can go with a Flingo & Winona's Catapults farm setting in both cases (sans Bunnymen, since they are damaged by Catas and it spells disaster in the end).
