Anyway to Rid of Batilisks?

Recommended Posts

I made the dumb mistake of opening a sinkhole in the middle of my growing mega-base.

Every dusk, they come and bite random walls and if you get 2 feet away from them, they ssscrrreeeeeeecccfcch and then call the other batilisks. They aren't hard or even lethal, they're just annoying and a headache to deal with them. Is there a way to rid of them.

I can't put a Bunnyman there, no space and I am Wortox, so I will get murdered.

Please help, I am going to manually delete this thing soon. (If you can).

Winona’s totally useless Spotlight should scare them away, but wearing a football helmet and just killing them works too..

unless your in a server where people have opened multiple holes near base and you got like 12-20 of them attacking at once, in that case abandon base.

(be sure you tell Wilson where base is before you do..) and find somewhere safer to live.

Don't even bother killing them! Hire a happy bunnyman by placing "the rabbit hutch" near the cave entrance. But whatever you do... Don't forget and come out of there with meat in your inventory... Oh no! You're Wortox? Didn't see... Well...

Do the same thing, build the hutch in the morning and place walls around the sinkhole (and the hutch). So the happy bunnyman won't get you.

Wait @Charlie Dark how did you get the Hutch to spawn outside of a cave? Anytime I try to take it out of a cave it just leaves it down there! :( I want the Hutch on surface world! (Starsky & Hutch)!

I wish but... I meant the "rabbit hutch" silly!

Maybe they could let Wurt be the only one that can bring it out of a Cave? I mean it’s a pet fish In a bowl that never dies... *shrugs*

The reason the fish bowl and similar items don't stay with you between caves and forest is because they're irreplaceable items that cant be obtained again. When going to the surface or to the caves you're actually leaving the server and spawning in the forest/caves server. You drop irreplaceable items like the fish bowl when leaving servers. Simple as that.

Flying AI in this game has a few quirks about the way they work, and you can take advantage of this by putting fences up around the hole but with an opening in the back of the fence (pointed away from where you want them to go). Flying AI by default know to pass over things like walls, fences, and land gaps regardless of whether they're fenced in or not; the caveat with this function though, is that the AI will still go around fences If they can help it. In short, if you make fences or walls with an open back-side, that is the path they will take and they will inevitably fly away from you or your base at dusk (IOW: you control where they fly to). Although do be careful to not block them in with walls/fences or make a pen too large as they will ignore the fences at that point and fly right through them.

Does WInona's spotlight do scare them away?

No. It's just a pointless suggestion.

I wouldn’t call it a pointless suggestion, Winona needs some slight tweaks to make her a viable character choice and not someone you play long enough to build her craftables and then never bother playing again.

The Solution? Winona’s Spotlight- Only she would be able to power it on or off, only she can use it freely rotating it, and when Winona is not in the game the spotlights will not work.

Why do I want this? Two reasons- The Spotlight can scare away Batilisks as it should because it’s a big bright heavily concentrated source of light, the second reason comes with WIGFRIDS Rework.

Wigfrid is NOT a real Viking Warrior, she is only a stage performance actress who took her role of being a Viking a little too far and lost herself within it, Therefore it should seem rather obvious that when a Spotlight is shined down onto her she would gain some additional buffs and bonuses with it.

Officially making Winona Vital to any Wigfrid main.

Pointless or not, this isn't a thread about suggestions.  It's probably confusing if a person comes in asking about something like methods for managing batalisks and one response is "you should be able to build a spotlight..."

Regardless of the merits of the suggestion lets keep this thread about tips for the game as is.

You can build a bunnyhutch and fence it in so the bunnyman can't chase you if you have meat.  The bunnyman will aggro on bats and kill them.

You can also just fight them.  Their health is only 50 so 2 hits with a spear, or 1 hit with a tentacle spike / dark sword / fresh ham bat.  If you're at the cave right as it gets to evening you can just kill them as they spawn.  If they're already there and swarming their aggro pattern is not to just rush and attack you.  They will circle you and at a point screech.  The screech means that one will now attack you.  While it is screeching it is stationary and you can run up and attack it twice before it actually bites you.

Also they are attracted to meat.  If you drop a meat they will head towards the meat to eat it.  Pop them twice with a spear while they're eating and they'll die, dropping the meat.  Continue this process until they are all dead.

Bats only do 20 damage.  If you're wearing a football helmet this means you're only going to take 4 damage per attack...  Even Maxwell can tank a few hits from these lol  They can be scary at first, but after you've handled them a few times they are easier to deal with then spiders.

I agree. More usage for her spotlights. That would be great.
