Although I doubt that this topic is used for what it was created to be, because it has become a topic for understanding the topic's proposal. Exactly.

So I'm going to edit it.

What questions should we ask to know what should be the focus of each character's rework?

"Should them have COMPANIONS?"

Is it okay if I am genuinely confused by this thread? Like I don’t even know what to reply with or what to say because I’m still scratching my head over what the entire thread means.

Them is whoever, or whatever had control of the Nightmare throne before the Ancient Fuelweaver and his people fell corrupted to it.

fuelweaver- “You are not Them”

So I suppose we won’t know who or what Them is until the final Return of Them content update.. 

but I do believe They are going to want their Throne back.

This is not a suggestion at first.

The purpose of the topic is to "catalog".

It is good to know how to ask the right question when we are going to discuss the future of DST, to find out in which direction we would like to go.

For example.

Spoiler

You choose a character: "Wes"

You read the questions: "I read the questions and I want the Wes make balloon teddy bears that throw themselves at the enemies consequently exploding (Killing and Dying), In other words, Wes will be focused on COMPANIONS, etc".

(Remember is just an example).

You answer the questions according to the character's characteristics.

or

According to what you would like to become the focus of the character under discussion:

"I also want Wes to be able to leave supply boxes on the tied to his balloons, which are floating, with a rope tied to a stake in the ground.

Perhaps you and most find it unnecessary. But I do not.
I don't want to post everyone's suggestion on that topic.
I just want you to help me think about more questions like these.

As far as I can understand...you kinda seem to be doing a player personality-survey?  To find out what all types of players we have here, and what ways we want to optimize (or not) various characters?  What our favourite and least favourite items to use are, and why?

Actually the first post kinda reminds me of a Don't-Starve-edition of the Bartle Test --the questions about companions, fighting and collecting kinda sound like they correlate to heart, club and diamond on that test.  

Heart = Socialiser.  The (hopefully positive!) interactions with other players are the main reason you play multiplayer games.

Spade:  You "dig up" stuff--mainly information.  This can mean exploring the actual map OR mining for secrets in the game code.

Diamond:  You like to have nice stuff.  In DST's case this could mean always having useful resources ready OR, collecting skins.

Club:  The most straightforward one.  You hit stuff.  Normally meant for PvP, but it can mean a PvE boss-battler too.

(I'm a Spade/Diamond combo, in case anybody was wondering.  : P)

All this could be WAY off from what Wesbie actually _meant_, but it's what the first post reminded me of.

Like I said: if I don’t play as a character enough I can’t rightfully say what I would like to see out of their Rework. 

However there is ONE Exception to this- WES.

Wes worked as a challenge mode character in Single Player Don’t Starve Because you actually had to learn quite a bit of game knowledge to even unlock and PLAY as Him first.. 

Like for example if you join a Server and someone has bee boxes with pretty flowers set up and a lovely little sign that reads “Please don’t pick the flowers.” 

An Experienced WES Player is going to have the knowledge to know NOT to pick the flowers, and won’t need to read that lovely little sign.

MEANWHILE a NEW Player to DST see’s WES Unlocked from the very beginning of the game and simply selects him because “cool looking Mime”

Theyre NOT going to be able to read that sign, they’ll create billions of balloons just because that’s the only character specific skill Wes has, and THEN they will pick all your Flowers effectively killing your Honey Farm.

 

IDC what Anyone Says- This above description is a clear Indication that WES is in drastic need of a Rework.

Something as Simple as allowing him to uproot & hold up the player created signs so YOU (the player) can read them.. before planting them right back into the ground where he uproots them from. Would be a GOD SEND change for WES.

It doesn't make sense to talk about Wendy now, at least after her rework (This is very late).

And yet the changes Klei will make to Wendy after rework will be limited.

Do you want to talk about Wilson?

What should be the focus of his rework?

Is that what Wilson's mains want?

This is an exercise, a dynamic, ask yourself.

We'll reflect and find questions, (the nuances that each character flirts).

When we don't know what we want for a specific character, we can try to optimize the gameplay with them.

Within our limitations we will ask ourselves what we want for each character.

I just wanted to record the types of niches in the game.

And if you remembered some other niche in the game that I had forgotten to write, I would like you to tell me what they are.

What did I want to "catalog" the niches / classes / functions of characters in the game for?

To know how to express what would be the focus of the rework that most think it should be or have.

It could also work as a guide for creating your own character.

It was supposed to be something to be consulted when it was finalized.

So I mentioned that it could never be finished, and it wasn't, because most people will be confused.

The title of your thread is Talk about what we want, so therefore I am to assume that anything we want is allowed to be discussed.

And if that is the case I want some toilet paper, last 4 stores I’ve gone to looking for it is out of stock, and the bad part about that is I live in a small town in the middle of Nowhere... so it’s not like I’m in some big city or anything.

Blah... this sucks. But what’s even more mind blowing then that is that WWE Wrestlemania (Wrestling’s Equivalent to the Super Bowl for those of you who don’t watch WWE) is going to be held for the first time ever in its history without an Audience at all

So what I WANT is for the world to go back to normal, We use video games and movies, TV shows etc to escape the world around us.. So I guess all we can do is hope that Klei Dev’s can maintain a steady stream of content to keep us all happy while at the same time, keeping themselves safe & healthy.

Theres been no news on Wendy’s Content update since JoeW dropped the reveal-  All we know is that Wendy gets a Refresh and that there’s a new Crystaline Collection Twitch Skin.

What we DON’T know, Is rather or not Wendy’s Refresh will come with a Belongings skin set like Willow and Woodie received, or any new skins at all.. we also don’t know if the update will include any new content or event outside of just Wendy’s Character Refresh.

In a time in our life were almost everyone is quarantined into their homes, we have to rely on Video games, Social Media & other forms of Indoor entertainment to keep us all occupied.

So mainly what I Want Is a steady stream of content updates to all my favorite games, but without the people who develop and create that content for me to enjoy to put their health in risk for my enjoyment.

From Myself to All Of You: Stay safe out there where ever you are and hopefully things will get better!

And it's BECAUSE we have all those things now that life even while self-quarantined is much easier and less lonely than it normally would've been--in ages past, we wouldn't've had even e-mail to keep in touch with people across the world faster than snail mail and cheaper than a long distance call...let alone actual video chat with sound!  We couldn't look up favourite shows or movies or YouTube channels to keep ourselves distracted and calmed down...we wouldn't be able to, say, buy new games on Steam...

So be glad this is at LEAST happening in 2020, is what I'm saying.  : P  

I'm totally with you on the tp...WHAT IS _WITH_ EVERYBODY AND  HOARDING THAT?!  They've started rationing it at my local supermarker like it's friggin' WWII or something all over again, and you _still_ can't get any unless you're there right when the store opens--and close to the front of the line. Yes.  There's a freaking line for the grocery store.  Early in the morning.

Anyway, what I would like from the Wendy refresh for example, is for it to not suck, have a cool animated short that at least kinda tells us something about, oh, I don't know...how Abigail died?   And for her to have some cool belongings/clothing skins...although, this being Wendy stuff, it will of course immediately become the most popular and zoom up in price on the player market.  I'd still like them to exist anyway,though.  :)
