Craigjw
This keeps happening. A temperature sensor reads a value and doesn't respond, sometimes far too late. The examples shown use the gas pipe temperature sensor. What gives? Craigjw
Here's one. To the far left of the map, you'll find a magma volcano installation with petrol distillation, the sensor at fault is here. I've used the same method for harvesting rocket exhaust heat, these have the same issue, but aren't quite as good an example. I have 2 mods enabled, however, I have tested with these disabled and the issue is still present. KittenIsAGeek
Is there liquid flowing continually through the pipe that sensor is attached to? The sensors only change if there's fluid/gas in the pipes. Anyways, I found that automation in Oni needs to be somewhat fault-tolerant to be reliable. For most things, this is not an issue. Its the same that would happen if a thermal sensor is in a vacuum. Makes sense to me to have this behavior. No hotter or colder medium, sensor has mass, hence no change. Craigjw
The pipe has contents, the sensor just doesn't update, it's like it's out of step with each tick, being processed a few ticks later. I have found that sometimes, deleting the sensor and rebuilding it makes it work properly, but then I reload later and it doesn't work. Nitroturtle
I think it's caused by having the sensor overlapping the end of a bridge. Sensors don't seem to work consistently when used like that. It won't detect gases exiting a bridge onto the tile containing the sensor. Craigjw
I've changed configuration with the sensor to a pipe segment only and it seems to work better. xenoborg
Switch it to below and switch it back, I seem to have to do it far too often with the temperature sensor where it starts off non functional. This happens to me all the time, and this is the solution that works for me. Just switch between above/below and back and it's like it gets reminded about how it's supposed to work. I suspect it has something to do with a new building that doesn't have anything to measure. Like... a temperature sensor on an empty pipe. Craigjw
Yeah, I've tried that and it wasn't working. Placing the sensor away from either bridge end is working fine for me now. The problem was, that I was originally using this method a while back and it worked great, like I've shown in the pictures, but this game, I had the wise idea to condense it and put the sensor on a bridge end to save space.... Thank you for the suggestions. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/113412-automation-not-responsive/#findComment-1281858 Share on other sites
