For the next update do you think they will add a teleporter ?

Yeah would be nice, this is more about end game, when i go to space, i leave my old base, but the transport of everything take so much time.

A teleporter would do the same transit tubes do. If they added it it should have some sort of requirement or drawback that makes both things useful. More power usage, need for space materials, the thing being so big that you have trouble fitting it in your base (like 5x5 or bigger). Either way i`m not against it but it shouldn`t make an entire tech branch obsolette. Just make it different.

100 tons of thermium, 500 megawatts to transport 1 dube, 10 minutes cooldown to recharge, 30 seconds for targeting. 

A very powerful, but also expensive transporter. In case of emergency useful, otherwise...

Let's assume you mean joules, not watts. To charge this amount would require 20 kW continuously for 41 2/3 cycles. I get that you are saying it would require a lot of power, but still....

I would hope that there would be both a Dupe version, and a materials version of this Teleporter, as well.  You'd have to specifically target any 1 Teleproter to any other single Teleporter (much more logistics involved), and would likely have to build a "Hall of Teleporters" in/near your living quarters, and another near your industrial area.

Those are already implemented. They are called transit tubes and conveyor rails respectively ;)

I don't think you understand what a Teleporter is in context here....

Transit Tubes and Conveyor Rails require direct conduits from start to finish, and have a pronounced travel time from one end to the other, increasing based on distance traveled.

A Teleporter would be just like in Star Trek where there is a brief run time (at, presumably, a high power and prior construction cost) there is near-instant transportation from point A to point B, regardless of the distance between those points.  So you can set up your Petro Refinery down in the Oil Biome, and use a Materials Teleporter to move it straight up to your Petro Rocket silo on the Surface, rather than using Pipes to plumb it all the way up there.

I don't think a teleporter is something that a player should be able to build. It might be cool to have existing transport points that spawn with the map. Then the player can choose to use them and try to find ways to make them useful.

For example a pair of ruins with a makeshift telepod that things can go between, or a special geyser that spits things out on either side. Another possibility is to just have holes on the left/right of the map that things can move through.

There could be a difference: 

Tubes need Energy per transit

Teleporter (or maybe more like an TeleGate) would require constand energy flow and if it's cut it would take a cycle to reopen the gate.

That way transit tubes would be efficient for low traffic areas and Gates for high traffic areas.

I can't say I'm a fan of the idea.
A portal/gate to a different part of the base that constantly requires energy to maintain I can sort of get behind, but teleporters just seem like they don't really fit, especially since tubes and conveyors are already part of the game and perform the same task.

I would say, however, that I'd like for the tube stations to be able to store more charges. 3 just isn't enough for high traffic areas. I would also like to see the ability to build faster tubes to speed up duplicant transport, just like plastic material and firepoles did for ladders. Maybe upgraded tube sections using space materials would fit?

We could make a mod, which adds it as a morale increasing building. You know like a roller coaster or something of that nature. However right now let's see if it stays unused in the next release.

Hehehe, no need for a mod. But since they actually have it in a video, I think the chances are good we will see it again.
