Does this mean for example you can superheat 1kg polluted water packets and guarantee no state change until it gets vented out? Does it also mean you can store a liquid vented as gas at unlimited gas pressure? AFAIK liquid vents aren't affected by gas pressure.

Yup, I get this mechanism like you do. If it's really a designed feature, I would definitely be ready to abuse it.
