Gus Smedstad
This is something I hadn't seen before. Apparently, slime isn't watertight. Digging a passage under a pool of water will leak water if slime if there's a single tile of slime between the water and the tunnel. Lali-Lop
Has to do with the water pressure, and the fact that the material is "soft". Same thing can happen with dirt, algae, and sand. tzionut
Same here. The problem is as always the water pressure. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/105618-slime-leaks-water/#findComment-1188190 Share on other sites
Gus Smedstad
Yeah, a few minutes later the slime gave way entirely, dumping the water into my colony. I guess the slime was taking rapid damage because there was water above it and no support below it. Abt9
The crack shows the damage the slime tile had to endure.. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/105618-slime-leaks-water/#findComment-1188193 Share on other sites

You'll see similar damage cracks in any natural tile when it's partially dug by a dupe. Maxposting
damn this game is way cool with its water physics. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/105618-slime-leaks-water/#findComment-1188249 Share on other sites

Ikr, those are heavily injured and in desperate and urgent need for fixing. Sasza22
You can see a crack on the tile, similar to ones that appear when you dig them. This also happens often in the oil biome with the overpressurized pockets but there the oil usually spills to the top. There`s even a dripping sound when this is happening. blash365
Walls with the sickness of 1 tile (or even 2 tiles) can break from overpressure regardless of material (note: doors behave differently). The normal water pressure of pWater is ~8001000kg tile. If the pWater in the tile above the crack is significantly higher than 800 kg, then the tile will begin to take damage and at a certain point (depending on material, i guess) it will break. This is not unique to pWater and happens with any liquid. Walls a thick as 3 tiles will not take pressure damage. Gus Smedstad
Normal pressure for water, polluted or otherwise, is 1000kg per tile. Very few materials will take damage from that pressure. Slime is obviously an exception. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/105618-slime-leaks-water/#findComment-1188347 Share on other sites

That slime tile would have been fine if it was only 1 tile (1000kg) on top, because of all the water above it’s causing the stress cracks.
