Lights out world, question

Recommended Posts

Hi you all, i recently created a world as Wendy that had the "lights out" preset on. Im having a blast but i quickly realise some stuff such as no bird spawn cause you know its night time. So my question was, is there a possible way to acquire a bird in this game mode ? Could Wicker's book be a solution (i dont know if they can spawn birds at night) ?

Thanks and have a good day :)

There is an RNGish way: befriend a Catcoon and hope it will cough a bird at one point.

Brilliant! Unfortunately according to the wiki it's only a 0.3% chance of them coughing up a bird, so you'll have to be patient.

Wicker's book does indeed workd at dusk and even night. I can't think of another way to get a birb in LIghts Out

The problem with this is how will you get the original birb, that will let you cage it, to make eggs to make the birds of the world book that will actually summon birbs which is what you don't have in first place...

Also without birds = no seeds to make the birb cage, and you probably have to rely on tumbleweed gambling.

stealing eggs from pengulls is the closest thing I can think of but they dont wake up or nest during the night...

Heu i was trying the catcoon method by giving it flower petals. Getting the seed with the catcoon barfing them were fairly easy. Still waiting on my bird barfed though xD

-"So what game you playing now timmy? shooter, soccer, mortal kombat, moba?"

-"Well, I got this game called dont starve together and I am gambling over a 0.3% chance to get a bird out of cats barf. So im collecting petals to gift to the cat"

usually the solution to being burned out of a forum is to stop browsing it, friend.

I’m not burnt out on getting news or leaks or tips (and offering tips) on the game, or even screenshots and memes. I’m just sick of endless character rebalance debates taking over like a cancer.

Also i'm gonna be a bit off-topic on my own topic (hehehe). This is related to bee boxes

Spoiler

The technic im gonna suggest isnt really efficient but eh its a trick i found for a lights out world.

Bee boxes in night dont spawn bees so theres no actual honey produce. Though if you adventure far enough for a long enough time, some honey can spawn in a bee hive.

So to actually gather bees for a bee box in a lights out world you'll need the following :

-Torch

-ice or ice staff

-Bug net

Just light a hive with your torch and start gather the bees. A light up hive will spawn normal bees (the yellow one). Extinguish the hive to save it if you wanna repeat the process with ice or the ice staff

So like i said its not a really effictive way to produce honey but it can still yield honey from time to time in a Lights out world

Quick update for everybody !

Catcoon is actually pretty descent to get random items (got 3 tentacle spot xD during my bird farming)

I managed to get a birb on day 12 ! Used around 30 grass and finally got one. So it is indeed possible to ge a bird in a Lights out world.

Thanks @x0VERSUS1y for the suggestion !

If you want more honey yield from your beeboxes, craft a handful of your abigail flowers (if you don't have a flower field nearby) and drop them near your boxes.

and if you need petals for abigals flowers, go to tumbleweeds and farm those for petals
