Vincie
A canon that would shoot down incoming meteorites, turning them to rubble, avaible after unlocking "celestial detection" tech and requireing liquid cooling (like reffineries do) and high power (10kW?) recharging after fireing. Finally Nikola's colony-cutting laser would come true! And really, all that regolith removal is just plain annoying. Sasza22
I`d prefer a force field (like that one in the animated short). You could turn it on during meteor storms and it would block everything (meteors hitting it wouldn`t spawn anything). Large power consumption, requiring space resources. Each generator shields only a small part of space (i`d say enough to shield 2 solar panels). goboking
Either give us a way to destroy or deflect incoming meteors or give us the option to disable them at map-creation. Perhaps sound exists in different frequency spectrums and humans and their tech is different from dupe tech? Perhaps they are more advanced and not caught in slavery and medieval thinking? Gwido
I'm against something to simply get rid of the meteors. It's part of the game to build a system to protect the base. Maybe something with very short range, like the idea of Sasza22. But bunker doors with doors controlled to crush regolith, and lately auto-miner, are made for this purpose, and quite easy to set up. D.L.S.
Or some microwave cannon to vaporize meteorites. Should require a lot power, like 1.21 gigajoule per shot... But i agree that player should deal with consequence of meteor shower, instead of preventing it.
