archblue1206
I saw that tooPeriodic snow + ground accumulation.Warmth mechanic (like dapperness, but you can freeze to death).Scottish Walrus Nobleman Father and Son Hunting Party.Deerclops.Ice Hounds.Stuff that might have to wait for the next update:Pengull swarms.Angry, craftable snowmen who throw snowballs.Winter is coming (ha!) next week, and is the last big difficulty-affecting feature before launch. I'm still tuning it, but from what I can tell so far it is something that you're going to have to plan for, or you will die:a) Vegetation shuts down. You can pick stuff that's already grown, but no new growth happens.b) You can freeze to death. You can wear warm clothes to slow the process, but you're going to have to warm up at fires periodically. Of course, this means that you aren't wearing armour or dapper stuff...c) There are two very tough monsters that are released. One is pretty much invincible, and you really just have to run away from it.This kicks in for the first time at day 25 or so (still adjusting that). It adds an element of time pressure that wasn't in the game before, and (I hope) will change the way the game is played. You can turn it off (or make it come more often) with the world configurator, but it is a major looming threat in the default world, and it will be used a lot in the story mode.Once that's in, we can talk about overall balance. Until that happens, we're trying to put together a puzzle with missing piecesthis is all the changelog that i saw that was about the winter's tale update..help me look! OdicHastings
Does anyone have any idea how long winter lasts? I'd like to think I can store enough foraged food to last through winter but if it goes on too long it might all just spoil. (Or I'll be forced to eat it all.) Urbstudio
Kevin said something about winter starting at lest 30 days in the game or lasting at lest or something about that?
mr.serious
A yeti wouldn't make any sense, in mythology the yeti is in the Himalayan region of the Nepals (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yeti). So, the Deerclops, he wouldn't make sense either, because in real life deer are very skittish.

n00biito
He told me it would start on day 30 and last 20 days.So what happens after that? Will there be a continuous cycle of 30 days of "normal weather" and 20 days of Winter?

Gangstamonkey214
I hope there's another tough mob besides deerclops in the next patch. One that's been kept in complete shadow so it will be a complete surprise for everyone! I can't wait for winter

ArcticFox789
I personally don't like the idea of a Werepig King, and I'm glad that we are about 95% sure we aren't getting one. Anyway, he's too fat to move, so how is he even going to stand up, let alone attack, even when he is a Werepig?
Derekku
In classic werewolves (A.K.A Not Twilight), werewolves get stronger, hairier, more muscular, etc than their human counterparts. So why couldn't the Pig King get enough muscle to carry his fat around quickly?
