Not unless you count using debug or sandbox (or maybe a mod I don't know about) there is no way. Lilalaunekuh
But there is a way to make more tungsten^^ => Melt insulation (pipes) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101558-wolframite-in-space/#findComment-1140690 Share on other sites

You can´t build anything using abyssalite so how would you melt it in the current build of the game ? (Yeah, there are some tricks with pumps not inside the liquid they are pumping, but even in this case you would need some additional cooling to melt debris.) 9 minutes ago, Oni Noob said: I dont quite get it, are you referring to Radiant Pipes? Nope just plain pipes (any non insulated pipe should do the trick xD) Just superheat some liquid using the metal refinery and send it to vacuume room with some pipes made of insulation. 9 minutes ago, Oni Noob said: What you mean, does melting Abyssalite produce Tungsten? Yes, but insulation is made of abyssalite so your more efficient if you use insulation^^ (Considering abyssalite is finite) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101558-wolframite-in-space/#findComment-1140729 Share on other sites

I don't think there's a liquid in the game that doesn't become gas before it reaches the melting point of insulation/tungsten/abyssalite. 27 minutes ago, Lilalaunekuh said: (Considering abyssalite is finite) It's not, you can get it from space. silverbluep
is there any method to reliably melt abyssallite? Even if you could pipe magma (from magma planet) it turns into rock gas way before temperatures reach anywhere close to melting point of tungsten. We need solar devices; needs sunlight access and converts abyssalite to liquid tungsten. But that's literally your only option, everything else is already gas by that point except for diamond and refined carbon. And of course you have to get around the very low conductivity of abyssalite to do this. Sasza22
Wolframite is definetly a valuable resource. I`s value it higher than niobium since it`s finite and it`s the only metal able to sustain multiple rocket launches using the hydrogen engine. I would prefer liquid steel or tungsten (use a killn to melt steel (or wolframite)) (A little trick to get something very hot inside your pipes to start heating it up to the required temperature using the metal refinery.) But it´s more proof of concept, cause you will be forced to replace pumps and other buildings and your forced to work in a vacuume insulated room made of diamond glass tiles ... (Not to mention the heat loss when a duplicant is forced to rebuild the pipes to melt ...) 22 minutes ago, Sasza22 said: I`s value it higher than niobium since it`s finite and it`s the only metal able to sustain multiple rocket launches using the hydrogen engine. Keep in mind tungsten can sustain indefinite rocket launches (But you can´t build anything using tungsten so wolframite is the go-to material when tungsten is not available. ) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/101558-wolframite-in-space/#findComment-1140868 Share on other sites
