Someone stop the Beetles!

Recommended Posts

Please someone do something! There is too many of them! Towards the end of day 10 Glowfly just appears in scores and they all pupate into these aggressive an annoying bug! It's not that I am unable to deal with a few but the numbers just get ridiculous!

This is a screenshot I took when I was on the Island with Fountain of Youth, an Island I had not been on until these critters hatched.

I could at least 38 in this screenshot.

That feels a bit much for only Day 14!

To be fair, even with a non combat based character, just take a spear, wood armor(prolly helm too) and you can kill a good number easily.

They die in 2 hits, and do not that much damage, and most important, they don't stunlock.

I managed to kill a swarm of 12 with webber by tanking them.

Not even talking of the Hippos that can roflstomp them

Use a bug spray. Seriously, hamlet's supposed to be more difficult than the base game, why do we have to try and nerf everything that makes it a challenge?

I have nothing against a fair challenge but when I'm running around trying to loose a pack of 40 beetles and I JUST get to base then a Thunderbird get spooked and I get struck by lighting and stunned, so they catch up, they damage me, I try to use the Bug Spray and they ******* kill me.

I am all for the challenge of the game but when every bugged thing comes together to kill me that's when I call shenanigans.

There is plainly too many of them and the "FPS drops" makes it harder to avoid other mobs while trying to shake them off.

That is plainly not fair.

feel like they should only hatch if the player stands near them for a while instead of on screen then hatch also they should die or turn into glowflies or something once lush season starts so you don't have to deal with these guys and 13 walls of bramble

hmmm they do stunlock u.. specially in numbers

The one thing I think should be changed about them is that they should die off with lush season. The glowflies themselves disappear into cocoons when humid season approaches, so why are there bugs left all over the map even into temperate?

and die in the poison jungle or ignore entering

They really should die in the poison jungle. It's so weird that the mechanic of the poison jungle killing bugs is established with gnats, but then no other bug mobs use it.

These beetles in cocoon state should not hatch until the player is quite nearby enough.

(which will reduce the annoying massive numbers they end up in)

and when lush season comes maybe they turn back to glow flies or die or something like bugs do normally.

they only hatch if there on screen and they do seem to disappear after lush because when I go to other islands I haven't visited in a while I don't see any cocoons unless its humid
