Show your infinite bathroom loop builds

Recommended Posts

You can simply do the following:

Create a closed loop for all your toilets/sinks. where all pw is piped into a sieve and all h2o back into the consumers.

Now replace one of those pipe elements (either in the pw or the h2o part) with a bridge.

Add a second pipe leading from the bridges input to some other consumer/tank/void.

The second pipe will only be used if the pipe behind the bridge is filled. So all access liquid will be siphoned off, while all cycling liquid stays.

Alternatively you can also use a valve instead of the bridge, so you can use your sieve for other pw producers as well.

Here's a picture of my bathroom's infinite loop

Uses a simple septic system to kill germs and dumps extra PW into a hydroponic farm tile to feed a thimble reed

Here's the automation for the disinfection system

Germ pipe sensor opens the door disabling the reservoir so the PW flows in but not out

Buffer gate delays the door from closing for 140s

thats kind of my point, looking at your room, you could put a tile to the left of the door, move the tank 1 space left, door would still remove foundation effect, drop the germ sensor down one space now you can input the loop back valve for dirty germs.....

oh you mean to catch any germs that survive?

wouldn't hurt to have another bypass but there is no need

germs will die in the reservoir in 120s if no fresh germy water is added (if it did the timer would reset)

The buffer is set to 140s

been running a long time and not one germ made it though

Ohh nice setup neo... my current colony I also decided to use my toilet water for reed fibers, except that I just pump all of it in there, and send fresh clean water into the sinks and toilets. this map has too much water anyway, so I can be as wasteful as I want :)

The toilets drop polluted water into the lower hot tank, which acts as a heat sink for the aquatuner.  The hot polluted water goes through the sieve and back to the toilets.  The aquatuner is on a closed loop cooling the upper tank which acts as a heat exchanger/buffer and a valve regulates the flow depending on how much cooling I need.  The packet combiner makes sure the aquatuner only cools full packets.  The clean water is cooled going through the right side before doing to the toilets so they don't get too hot.  The left side is once again cooling water for bristle berries just to get rid of the excess polluted water.  For a long time I instead used it to cool the metal refinery.  Since I built the steam turbine I removed the return pipe for that loop and just left the bit you still see.  Also run oxygen from the electrolyzers through it before spreading it around the base.

Minor experiment results: it appears that dupes can make espresso out of germy grey water and not worry about the nastiness at all.

So you sent clean Water with Food Poisoning Germs to an Espresso Machine, and the Dupes that used it did not contract the Food Poisoning Germs?

Correct.

After further review, it appears I was mistaken. They DO get germs from the grey water coffee, but it's almost negligible. I'm playing on medium difficulty, with the -5% immune system debuff, and a biohazardous dupe with some slimelung already doesn't get enough germs to make more than about 1-2% difference, and that clears after they've slept.
