How do you dodge boarilla roll?

I've found that even as Woodie I can prevent the boarilla from ever wanting to do a roll attack when I'm kiting it if I throw my axe less often and do less damage to it. So I wait for every second punch to throw the axe after he punches, then continue running in a straight line around the arena. I try not to get close to it as much as possible so that it never wants to roll, and if my teammates are not slow at killing the other mobs I've found that with these conditions it doesn't ever want to roll to attack before my team is ready to attack it.

I imagine with Wes as long as you shoot every 2nd punch just like you'd use the axe with Woodie he can probably do the job as well. Also I've done this with both the fast starting armor and the chain mail (85% protection) and it works both ways.

looks like runner become a tank with 95 armor and just stand in one corner

i see this trick sometimes, but dont know how to

You're probably talking about Woodie, who can use his axe's special attack to cancel out a bosses attack. A skilled Woodie can focus only on countering with axe throw right as an enemy attacks to distract it indefinitely, Boarrior included.

The only way I have been able to with Wes is through the use of the molten darts special; have it ready and pointing towards the gorilla to be prepared in case of rolling. With Woodie is not as hard because he comes with his trusty Lucy which I think draws far too much aggro.

Another way is not dealing too much damage as there is a threshold of health were the Boarilla starts doing it (cannot say for sure, but I think after it has taken 200 or 300 damage he starts rolling, might be more though). Funny thing is that the molten darts does more damage than regular darts, so you are going to reach that threshold faster with them; not that it matters because maybe your teammates take too much time killing the other threats (so you deal more damage to the boarilla), or in the worst case: they decide to attack the boarilla!

Supposedly you can avoid if you move to the side, but I have not been able to do so.

once it starts rolling, it seems rolling between every four attackes. you can run in a straight line after each fourth attack, prepare your axe and throw it backward once it rolls.

Thank you, I will try this. I was a professional kite in forge last year (woodie main), but I hesitate to call myself that this year until I learn to deal with that roll, since if my teammates are slower or 5/6, I have about a 70% chance of dying to rolls on the 2nd boarilla before they're ready to take it.

might be an n seconds cooldown rather than between an exact number of attackes, though.

Actually the savest way is throwing axe at a boarilla between its every two attacks to delay triggering rolling.

With 85% armor and ~200 health, you are very, very likely to survive enough rolls for your teammates to finish their job.

the boar rolls at 5th attack for me too. So I usually throw axe at 1st 2nd 3rd but not 4th attack. throw it again when he's about to attack 5th.

his roll cooldown decrease to 3rd or 4th attack after a while though.
