Infrared Space Heat Sink

Recommended Posts

So I know that heat reduction in space is really hard.  Super hard.  However, it is possible to radiate the heat away as infrared light. Do you think we should be able to build a bulky (metal costly) heat sink in the vaccuum of space to help manage heat on the surface?

I am pretty sure they will end up adding some sort of space radiator, considering how much it’s been requested. It would be cool if all materials exposed to space radiated heat away though!

You can do it by evaporating water to space

In such case it is better to evaporate oil (we now can) since it can store much more heat before evaporating and you get more oil per kg of water then difference in heat capacity, in worst case heat it to 300 with steel aquatuner and void it to space. Or simply heat delete from petroleum by producing plastic (I assume it does heat delete).
