Jonathan Hoffman
So I know that heat reduction in space is really hard. Super hard. However, it is possible to radiate the heat away as infrared light. Do you think we should be able to build a bulky (metal costly) heat sink in the vaccuum of space to help manage heat on the surface? Craigjw
Infrared isn't a thing in ONI. In space, no one can hear your dupes scream from sunburn. Neotuck
Space heat shouldn't raise more than 300C, (200C is the average) as long as everything is made of steal or better nothing should overheat Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97795-infrared-space-heat-sink/#findComment-1106677 Share on other sites
psusi
Yes, you should be able to radiate heat away at night. On the other hand, during the day it should absorb heat. Jonathan Hoffman
I wouldn't mind a cycle of heating\cooling between day and night. And while infared isn't a thing, I think having a space-only-heatsink might be a cool late-game way to manage heat in general. pacovf
I am pretty sure they will end up adding some sort of space radiator, considering how much it’s been requested. It would be cool if all materials exposed to space radiated heat away though! You can do it by evaporating water to space Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/97795-infrared-space-heat-sink/#findComment-1107097 Share on other sites

Or simply heat delete from petroleum by producing plastic (I assume it does heat delete).
