Glassyfo
Is there a way to confine a shovel vole? They climb up my metal walls, and dig straight through pneumatic doors.
PhailRaptor
Refined Metals will contain them, or so I'm told. That means Metal Tiles.
InternetGuy
Do viscogel or liquid lock s stop them? I never had a reason to ranch them though. :/

Glassyfo
I'm playing the latest patch. The shove vole update didn't do anything. Maybe mine are bugged? I added them in sandbox.

Fixxed it without debug, some stress but fun.

For me steel doors works fine. But they can still escape through open door given enough time.

Neotuck
This seems to be the best ranch design so far They cant dig though steel doors however they can escape when dupes open them Water lock doors won't work as shovel voles don't drown (they live in a vacuum, think about it) However I have found another problem with taming voles and that they seem to have no limit for feeding, this often results in one vole eating all the regolith while the rest starve

RonEmpire
They really should make it so the Vole's don't pass through open doors. This will solve a lot of problems. In your image @Neotuck I noticed you have a transit tube. Does the wall bridge for the tube not work? If you can't make wall tile tube passing block made from refined metal. then they should address this.

The voles drilled though it
RonEmpire
dang. they need to fix that! vole's are like becoming annoying in my base. the abysalite was breached at the top and now they're floating around my base down below while the comets are tearing my top layer. Fischer_L
They can be trapped on floating island (2 wide gap between walls). The only problem - eggs falling down when shoves layes them sticking to ceiling... But sweeper-droper can solves this.

Neotuck
Just finished my escape proof shove vole ranch Only problem is keeping them fed, I have 90% of the surface of my map collecting regolith from meteors and it's still not enough for 8 tamed voles, they need to fix that
