SchlauFuchs
What is the least gamey/cheating approach? Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96444-how-do-you-cool-down-structures-in-vacuum-space/ Share on other sites
Saturnus
Depends on what you need to cool. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/96444-how-do-you-cool-down-structures-in-vacuum-space/#findComment-1094023 Share on other sites
Yunru
Stick wallpaper behind it and use a liquid. Maybe a gas (might not need the wallpaper then). Saturnus
Buildings on a "ground" exchange heat with ground in a vacuum so you can run radiant pipes through the tiles they "stand" on. I'm pretty sure that robo-miner is "standing" on the ground it's built on. Look at the robo-miner - placing a liquid there means I need to put some floor there too, right? Both Drywall and Tempshift Plates have the property of protecting fluids from space exposure. In this situation, if you were to do this you'd need to use a Gas, since it's on the ceiling. But you'd need to add 1 more tile as a lip to catch the gas, so it doesn't flow out. I'm not so sure that's the best option though. I'd suggest Radiant Pipes through the Bunker Tiles, as well as behind the Robominer itself. Use the Radiant Pipes as part of a cooling loop. You'd also want to use Tempshift Plates, set against the Bunker Tiles. So the cooling loop would be working on the Bunker Tiles the Miner is connected to, as well as the Robo-miner itself. fredhp
Tempshift or Drywall and need some active cooling system to move the heat away. What i do is to build a radiator system to transfer heat from the tiles to somewhere else. The transfer fluid i use is petroleum due to high evaporation temperature.
