How to Purify Water?

water sieve and boil, there isn't much else

Yup, unless you count letting it just gas off, purify the oxygen with deodorizers, and thereby saving water that would have been used for oxygen production in the first place but that's a pretty roundabout way of looking at it.

Water sieve and use a stack of liquid reservoirs in chlorine gas to kill the germs. At 1st you wait till it get filled then deactivate the water sieve and wait till it's germ free (couple of cycles) then, fill your system with clean water and activate the water sieve again. The water 'stacks' inside the liquid reservoir so when it get to your base it's germ free.

Germs die in water anyway... So you could actualy use some kind of shape tank with a good placement of the pump, away enough from your water arrival. I don't remember the rate for dying germs, but they will mostly die before they can reach the pump for common usage.

That isn't enough water if you run larger bases.  Purifying water is the best way to get clean water, especially in the mid game.

Depends on your geyser distribution. My current map has 2 cool steam vents, 3 cool slush geysers, and a water geyser, so water and heat have been easy from the start.

Ignoring the pH2O by dumping it is a semi-temporary solution, for early game. Late game, you'd be using more efficient setups like a boiler or sieve to destroy heat at the same time.
