Would not mind the destroying as long i get rid of the blocking. But yeah i would say thats a bug.

Then use build order instead.

Spoiler

Allow 1 Dupe to go up there (Door permission) and make him unable to build (Build priority)

your automation system will only produce noise when the automation overlay is active. But not when normal view is active. Did i miss anything?

Yeah, you missed you can turn off automation sounds in setting.

I  wouldpost my build if I remember when I get home if people want, but a couple points.

1. I put 3 spaces between the bunker doors and glass - so I can have oil wells being built in between - This allows the dupes to automatically dig out the meteors - and only when the bunker doors open (to avoid them getting trapped).

2. The detection satellites don't block light, so build them on glass (below the  bunkerdoor / glass noted above) and then build solar panels even further below them for maximum solar panel area per bunker door lighting.

3. On my seed all I had was a 30 degree polluted water geyser (at about 2300 g/s considering all dormacy). So i pump-valve it out at 2300 g/s - which using radiant pipes cools about 30 Smart batteries - which raises the temp maybe 1 - 2 degrees. Then using various material types of pipes pumps through all the bunker doors to slowly cool them. It took experimenting to balance what materials so the p-water came out at about 100-110 degrees. This water is then immediately sieved - and then cooled from 40- almost 30 with a Thermo-nullifier - then used for bristles.

You got a good setup for the case. Just ad vertical automated airlocks at the place where your gas-vent is (and place that somewhere else)

Then link all of the doors to an automation wire, bound to a setup of buffer-gate(2sec) > not gate - filter gate(9.1sec) Add a automation-wire from the output of the filter gate to the output of the buffer gate to make it loop, and link the doors also to this line.

That way, the doors are nearly always open (and letting sunlight through) but will close for 0.1 seconds every 2 seconds. This will crush everything falling into the doors.

You may tinker around with automation to prevent the doors doing this, while the bunker doors are closed, to prevent power wasting. You may further experiment to do this crushing job just a couple of times (say 10x) after opening the bunker-doors, and then just stay open.

When I do this, I tend to have my doors turn into very hot metal ore, any idea why this sometimes happens?

It will help you.

The method is simple to order tiles to be built and make people a priority x
