always doing it, alt+s, zoom out, then alt+s back to play with a much better overview

who else is doing that? it's not like the game runs any different...

Hm...I use the debug painter if I want to zoom out. Using alt+s doesn't change the max zoom level, so you're not going any further out than you would by just scrolling out as far as you can normally.

If you want to zoom out more, open the debug painter, then you can zoom out to see the ENTIRE map. :wilson_goodjob:

actually alt+s allows zooming out all the way for me. then disabling it will stay at that zoom level... unexplored areas still unexplored and stuff

Must not be the default debug keys that you have set up there...

dunno what you mean, really no need to use debug-mode.

I didn't change any hotkeys and Alt-s hides the gui and let's me zoom out as far as I want with unexplored parts still dark and working overlays if I want them.

....have you ever tried it?  Because it is completely separate from Debug mode.  It's called Screenshot Mode, and it's designed for the player to take screenshots of their base to share.  It toggles off the UI, and unlocks the zoom.
