Mechatronics Engineer (Operate)

Hi,

A Mechatronics Engineer has Operate as his Top Priority - shouldn't it be Build instead? I think this is why My conveyor belts are never built.

Just make sure you don't accidentally pick a dupe that cannot build for your specialty engineers.  Yeah, I did that once. Whoops.

I usually set 'build' as top priority after profession, & that works pretty well for getting your specialty items built.

You are using the simplified priority system, so expecting it to work perfectly in all situations is kinda silly.

I disagree.  A simplified system should be the easiest to understand at face value.

Miravlix is saying that using the simplified priority system allows for generalization of dupes' priorities. Expecting it to work perfectly at any given time without going in there and making advanced tweaks is an impossible thing to ask.

That's like going into McDonald's, ordering a BigMac, and then getting all upset that they put lettuce on it. You didn't ask for them to not add lettuce, so they just went with the general burger design.

If you want to make sure your dupes know EXACTLY what they're supposed to be doing, use advanced priorities and tinker around with it until you get the desired result.
