Can Seasoned Miners dig Neutronium?

Recommended Posts

In a video by Brothgar (https://youtu.be/9itv9Ws7Kbc), he claims that seasoned miners can dig out neutronium. I haven't had time to test this out - maybe someome could confirm it?

The game tooltip still says otherwise:

"cannot be excavated by any duplicant mining tool".

The change can have far-reaching consequences and uses, so I'm really interested!

As far as I know neutronium is like Minecraft's bedrock. Nothing can breach it because there is nothing beyond to reach. On world generation there will occasionally be small pockets that don't spawn and are replaced with other elements, and those elements can be broken, but again, the only thing beyond is either more neutronium or void, which is just an infinite vacuum

Wait, let me try again, travaldo was an apprentice miner, let me get my seasoned miner in there...nope, same story. I think @Saturnus is right. ..even so, I think it would just be a chunk of rock that you couldn't use for anything.

This has been the behavior of Neutronium previously, as well.  You can assign them to dig it, and they will stand there firing their deatomizer tool at it, but they won't make any progress.  They will do it indefinitely (air, food, and bathroom not withstanding), and the task will continue to get assigned each cycle until you cancel it.

Quick question about Neutronium in debug_mode, did you were allowed to dig in it ?
Maybe its just me, after modified too much game's files, but i couldnt before.
Or maybe a new duplicants tool is coming... sounds weird anyway until duplicant cant go dig it into lava or not that usefull to dig side maps.
