Although you can still lock ugly criers and/or vomiters into an ultra low decor room with nothign to do but running on a treadmill over a septic tank to make them fill it up for later use.

Also not a new trick, but vomit mean more polluted H2O

Before the Thermal Upgrade, the game had electrolyzers but no steam geysers. So the only renewable source of water was dupe pee and vomit. Dupe pee is not enough to keep them breathing (it is only sufficient for about 10% of their air). But if they're constantly vomiting, dupe vomit can actually keep them going. And it doesn't degrade their hunger.

After the Thermal Upgrade, pretty much the only reason to do this are super fast duplicant growth challenges (where you don't have time to find a geyser before you run out of algae) and no-geyser runs.

Dupes can easily survive on much less air than optimum, they will just spend most of their time wheezing. They can subsist by sniffing a small glob of polluted dirt taken from an outhouse. That's because the wheezing animation is not interrupted by oxygen being removed and lack of oxygen only slows breath gain.

Also, nowadays vomiting does degrade hunger.

Regardless, if you really want a lot of polluted water, nowadays we have food poisoning for it. It greatly increases bladder refill - by 300% or so. It stops dupes from going to toilet while they're sleeping (bug?), but that could probably be remedied by having them sleep supported by doors, then opening those doors 4 times per cycle so that they wake up for "milking".

Worth noting that it looks like just additive stacking, not multiplicative.

Still. Keep them well fed with food poisoned food and you can have small bladdered vomiters producing an awful lot of polluted water. Who cares if they need 4 or 8 mealwood plants to survive :D
